Atlee and PG
It wasn't hard for Kara to drag Atlee away. For starters, the young girl was clearly distracted by the sheer size of the cake, not to mention a bit giggly from the bit of champagne she'd tried earlier in the night. There was also the fact that even the best parties could be tiring. By the time the cake appeared, Atlee had already had a busy night filled with singing and dancing and trying horse somethings.
Plus, she really didn't know what to expect at a birthday party. Kara could have told her it was time to play hide and seek and Atlee might have believed her. (People did that in movies. They'd turn out all the lights then shout surprise!)
Still, Atlee was protesting, at least verbally. "Wait-- what-- but-- the cake?" She stumbled after Kara, trying to catch up with the older woman's pace. "Where are we going?"
