It was bigger than he was used to- housing prices weren't exactly high in Coast City. During one of his plots against the league while possessed by Parallax, Hal had rebuilt the infrastructure and buildings of the City. Just as it had been before Mongul had destroyed it. After his work was done, Hal had devised a number of schemes which would give him the power to resurrect his city- but the League had thwarted him before any got off the ground... but he didn't want to think about that now. At the end of the day, it meant that Coast City had dozens of empty apartment buildings and skycrapers, just waiting for people to fill them. And they were...gradually. In the interim, it meant that it was extremely cheap to get a decent-sized place.
Hal continued through his apartment, making sure the place was relatively neat. It wasn't like he was throwing a party or nearly so enjoyable, but he still figured he should try to make sure the place looked good.
Stop stalling for time and send the damn message.
He had sat down, and brought his glowing green power ring close to his face. He felt the energy pulse through him, and extending his will he focused in his mind's eye. The JLA Headquarters, the Batcave, the Fortress of Solitude, the Themiscyrian Embassy, and the homes or secret hideaways of the rest of the League. The ring's captured a life-sized hologram of Hal, sitting on his plush leather couch. “Hey guys, this is Hal here. Hal Jordan. The last few times we encountered each other, things didn't exactly end well, so I understand if you're angry or suspicious of me. But it turns out that I wasn't the one making decisions. My mind wasn't my own- I was being controlled. Like Despero or Gorilla Grodd might do.”
“So look, if you guys want a full explanation, you can come out to my place in the new Coast City and we can hash it out. I'll have beer, so you just bring your wary suspicions. Hehe... I just figured you guys deserved to know I was back.” Hal willed the ring to show his current address and location, and that was that. The message dispatched in the form of small green lights, each one arcing out at the speed of light toward its destination.
He had unplugged his phone. He wanted to talk to them face to face. They deserved that much. Hal waved his hand, and his ring mimicked a remote control, turning his television to the football game. He didn't really care who was playing. He wasn't thinking about that anyway...
