Thread: Best hero/sidekick duo evar. Eat your hearts out, Bat-birds.
Who: Karen Star, Atlee and a cameo by Cat.
Where: PG's apartment → Manhattan, NY
When: Friday, April 16th, 2010 - evening-ish
Summary: After a long day of taking Atlee shopping for Bruce's party, hero and sidekick catch up, eat food and try on clothes, so...y'know...girlie things. What? They are girls.
Karen had taken off early from work, not just her though, she had given the staff at Starrware early dismissal as well. Sure there was still tons to be done fixing their systems and battening down those proverbial hatches and she knew she'd be paying for her lackadaisical work schedule next week, but after everything that had recently happened she could tell everyone was plum tired. She was hardly a slave driver though and so, when the three o'clock hour rolled around and she could see that people were dragging she up and decided that work was done. It was good to be the boss sometimes.
Soon after leaving the office, she met up with Atlee and, as promised, took the girl shopping all over the city. Karen got a kick out of seeing Atlee's multitude of reactions to...well, everything. The young girl had, literally, been living under a rock and it was something Peej wasn't soon to forget by the way petite brunette looked bewildered at all the shiny utensils in the home goods section. After explaining what salad tongs were used for, Karen ushered Atlee into the young miss department to try on several hundred dresses at Karen's behest.
Only now were they returning to the shared apartment. Karen paused outside the door to fish out her keys from her purse. Narrowing her eyes, she scanned the other side of the door with her x-ray vision.
"Uh, oh..."
Cat was on the other side, positioned to make an escape attempt as soon as the door was open.
"Okay, hold on..." she said, setting her bags down and mentally preparing herself for the Cat-ambush. Unlocking the door she opened it just enough to squeak in and wrangle up her sour-puss. "Its okay, I got him." Cat meowed in protest. Foiled again! PG opened the door wider, allowing Atlee entrance and toeing her shopping bags over the threshold. She shut the door with her hip, wandering inside a few paces still holding the very grumpy Cat.
"Whose a hungry kitty? What wants food?" She babbled down at the tabby. Food, what? Cat new that word.
Looking over at Atlee, Karen smiled. "I'm going to feed him and get us something to eat. Why don't you go and try on what you ended up buying? I want to see."
