Narrative/Scene Who: Atlee (and Open) Where: Hovering above New York City When: June 28th Summary: Atlee tries to make sense of things.
Atlee had known that it wasn't going to be easy. She needed to earn the trust of the general public as well as the superhero community. It hadn't gone perfectly. She had had a rocky start and there'd been a few misunderstandings, but Atlee figured she was making progress. She had found a mentor in Power Girl and friends in Young Justice.
Everything seemed to be going well, at least until recently. Atlee knew she'd be facing a number of hardships but she had never thought that time travel super villains would be one of them. Even now, it was hard to imagine her friends acting in such a manner. Their future selves had claimed to have good reasons but their personalities had been so different. It was too difficult to resolve the friends she knew and the people they had become. It didn't make sense. Atlee understood something had gone terribly wrong and yet...
She frowned and looked down at the city. It felt good to free, back out in the open, but it felt off somehow. She flicked a tiny pebble off her perch and watched as it fell towards the ground. Everything looked the same but somehow Atlee got the sense that things had changed.
Even now as she watched the traffic below. There were familiar, comfortable flow to the vehicles. For the most part things moved smoothly yet every once in a while-- crash. Atlee sighed. The people on the surface did and created so many wonderful things. Since she'd arrived, Atlee had wanted to learn everything and everything. People really were quite fascinating and yet...
Right now, Atlee didn't want to understand them at all.
