Caroline's eyes sparkled with mischief as she watched Naomi struggle with her mouthful. She'd won, and it felt so good she couldn't help but grin.
"You should come with me," she suggested, forgetting all about her previous anger and contempt. She was full of steak, free steak, and the world was shiny and new again. "I mean, you picked out this place, maybe you can help me pick a place that's just as good, you know?"
Because Caroline wasn't stupid or arrogant enough to think that she could do this alone. She had fully intended to hire people to help her along the way - interior designers, cooks, a manager, that sort of thing. If Naomi was into the sort of place that she planned to open, then her insight could prove to be invaluable. And she'd already blown off work for Caroline, apparently. What was the harm in asking?
