It was with no small amount of glee that Caroline watched the other woman's face color with anger. It was a rush, knowing she'd pissed her off so thoroughly, so quickly.
"What's the matter?" she jeered. "Has no one ever had the gumption to stand up to you before? I don't give a flying fuck about everyone else, I'm talking about you, and about me, and about the fact that I was walking, and you barged right the fuck into me, you inconsiderate harpy!"
She was gearing up for a world class rant now, and it felt oddly good, even though she knew she could be getting herself into serious trouble. "Oh, your street, well, I'm so sorry, Your Highness. I didn't know you were Lord and Commander of all you surveyed. I'm sorry to have sullied your good street with my common feet."
Over the top? Good, it was meant to be. She took another breath and let go again.
"You're not the Queen of the World, so get the fuck over yourself and stop acting like you know something. You're just a person, like me. And be grateful you're allowed to lay claim to that much."
