In Which Flats Are Visited
Who: Pierson Alders, Callisto Alders, Teddy Lupin
When: again, do we even really know?
Where: the flat Pierce and Teddy are to share!
Status: In-progress

When Pierce had sprung the plan on Callisto, she'd been appalled.

"You can't be serious, Pierce!" she'd said, hiding her gasp behind one hand. "You're going to move out?"

Pierce had only given her a nonchalant shrug. "Why not? After all, I'll be expected to stay at one of the manor houses once I've settled down. This might be my only chance to try and do things on my own."

To her credit, Callisto hadn't asked the question so obviously apparent on her face: Why would you want to do something foolish like that? Instead, she'd just fixed him with a look until he'd continued, "Things aren't the same as when our parents were in school. If we want to make a change, we need to be able to function in any circumstance, not solely as entitled, pureblooded wizards. If living with the grandson of a blood traitor like Andromeda Black helps to keep me from suspicion later on, then so be it. This is something I need to do."

Callisto had just shaken her head at him. "Do you honestly realize what you're doing? When they find out, you'll be lucky if our parents don't blast you straight off the family tree!"

Pierce had grinned at that. "You can just leave that to me."

Now, a little over half a week later, Pierson stood with Callie on the Muggle streets of London. Impeccably dressed, they barely garnered more than a passing glance as they made their way down the crowded streets.

"You'll be so close to them," Callisto noted, distaste evident in her voice.

"Can't be helped, Callie," Pierce said patiently. "They're going to keep building closer and closer to us. It's not worthy fussing over."

"I am not fussing."

As they continued toward the address Teddy had provided him with, Pierce looked the area over with a critical eye. It really wasn't too bad, if one ignored the Muggles. He thought he would be satisfied with it.

"Oh, Pierce, isn't this it?"

They came to a stop in front of a small door, labeled with the appropriate number. Pierce pushed on the door, but it refused to move. "How do we get in?" he questioned, puzzled. "Muggles can't use a simple unlocking charm..."

But he could. Pierson didn't notice the buzzers directly to the side of the door, instead sliding his wand out just far enough to touch it to the door and whisper, "Alohomora. Come on, Callie," he added, as the door creaked inward. "Let's go see what this flat looks like on the inside."

He headed up the stairs, intent on knocking on the appropriate door once he found it.

Teddy had been up bright and early that morning, ready to greet his new flatmate and continue with his efforts to sell the flat as the most amazing place a bloke could hope to live. That had quickly been forgotten as Teddy had gotten dressed (he'd slept on the floor, keen to break the place in) and discovered that he'd packed his Gryffindor socks.

The garish ones the head of the Weasley brood had knitted him two Christmases ago.

...it was too much to resist.

WHOOSH.

Teddy careened down the hall again, trying to keep his balance be waving his arms about. He'd cast a spell to reduce the friction of the hallway even more and had spent the past hour trying not to run into walls (and failing).

The knock came just as Teddy slid past the main room. He jolted, then over balanced. He hit the floor solidly and stayed like that for a few moments. When he was certain his pride had laughed the entire incident off, he removed the spell, stood up, and jogged over to throw the door open.

"You made it!" he was a little winded, but still all smiles. "Brilliant. And who's this?"
