James didn't even register what happened as his cart jarred violently, sending him backwards with enough force to nearly knock the breath from him. At the same time, his trunk went one way and Halliford's cage bounced across the platform and rolled out of sight, but not out of hearing range as the owl let out a series of displeased shrieks.
"What the bloody hell...!" James shook his head a few times to clear the disorientation.
And then he managed to focus his glare on the girl who'd run into him (or who he'd run into, but he wasn't about to share the blame just yet).
"Watch where you're going!" he shouted, still not quite together enough to push up from where he was braced on the ground.
