The Alders family had always managed to avoid any real trouble with the Ministry. They were known for just barely skirting the lines of legality, for escaping accusations with technicalities and keeping their secrets and retaining all of their dignity in the face of the Mudblood-loving traitors controlling the wizarding government nowadays. So of course, it had come to pass that the Ministry had decided to call in the Alders on that specific day. And unwilling to even reveal that a meeting was taking place then, Naos and Meissa Alders had been forced to decline attending the European Cup meeting, instead stuck in a day of hearings and meetings with the Ministry.
So instead of letting the meeting pass by without an Alders in attendance, the responsibility had fallen to the two eldest children to attend in their wake. Pierson and Callisto Alders had arrived relatively early on, taking seats next to each other about midway between the two ends and talking quietly with each other rather than making small talk with the rest of the gathered.
"Try not to say anything that's going to get your loyalties questioned," Callisto murmured to Pierson.
"You say that like I'll do it intentionally," he responded with a pout.
"I wouldn't put it past you."
Callisto was actually quiet pleased to be there and a part of it all. It had been far too long since the purity of blood had been recognized for its superiority.
