Who: Dan Torrance and Steve Rogers What: Match-Up Thread, Random meeting Where: The foyer of the apartment building where everyone lives When: Sunday Status: Closed, Match Up
Dan stepped back from the hand-written A4 poster he'd just stuck to the wall, and read it over yet again. It was simple enough since art wasn't exactly his strong point - Black writing with a few colored highlights to help people notice it - but he thought it was good enough to get his point across.
If you think you have a problem with drinking too much, drug use or you've given up drinking/taking drugs and need some support for whatever reason, please come along to [Dan's apartment] on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 9pm. For anyone who's attended Alcoholics Anonymous in the past, it will be a similar set-up to that. Anything said in the meetings will remain in the meetings.
There will be coffee!
PS if you need help or support sooner, look for Dan in the phones or try my apartment
If he was being entirely honest, and he had grown into that habit since he'd gotten sober, he wasn't trying to set it up out of the goodness of his own heart. He needed the support as much as anyone else that might attend, and the meetings he'd missed since arriving in this place weighed heavily on his mind when he let them. Still, he hadn't had a drink no matter how much he'd wanted to, and no matter how many times he'd walked past liquor stores. That had to count, right?
His poster looked fine, though. Not too flashy that it was in everyone's face, and not dull enough that it'd be ignored. Good job.
