thread. Characters: Chase (Chaos) and Vanessa (Siren) Location: Common room. Time: Backdated to late March/early April - during Chase's first week at Haven. Summary: First meeting. Status: In progress Warnings: None as of yet - should be fairly tame.
While her possessions were few and far between, Vanessa had managed to procure a package from the Senator, her father, which included several pads of drawing paper and an exceedingly large box of high quality colored pencils. She had no doubts that her father was trading favors, and if she were to occasionally receive things to her benefit as a result of those favors, well. Who was she to refuse? After training was done for the day and with over an hour to go before dinner, she first showered and changed from her uniform before gathering her supplies and moving toward the common area. Vanessa had been in the program nearly two years but had yet to make many long lasting ties that were worth writing home about.
Oh, she was friendly, to be sure, and she was cordial in kind when spoken to - but going out of her way to forge bonds with the other supers held little to no appeal to her. It was safest to keep her distance. Nonetheless, Nessie enjoyed watching her peers interact with one another. She liked to imagine what they might have been talking about - sometimes, it was nice to sketch them. It was exactly what she had in mind as she stepped off the elevator. She cradled her supplies to her chest, pale eyes fixated not on where she was going but instead on the ground directly in front of her. Eye contact for her was rare; it felt too intimate for her to handle and unfortunately often led to mishaps such as the one about to occur: no sooner had she rounded the corner into the room did she slam straight into another person. Hard.
She winced in pain, having knocked her head against an unknown part of their body, and watched helplessly as her pencils spilled out all over the floor. Vanessa whimpered, loud enough for the embarrassment to bleed onto the person she'd run into - allowing them just a taste of what she was currently feeling.
