Azriaphale nodded, he had become acquainted with the inscrutable letter boxes. There was definitely some sort of other power at work in Nowhere, but he hadn't been inclined to investigate as yet. Truth be told most of what he'd done since arriving would probably be best classified as moping. Possibly sulking and a bit like grieving. "I expect that you could continue to do that, but if you would be kind enough to either do so through me or provide me with a list of what to expect I'd be grateful," he said. Unexpected books simply appearing was unnerving. Although he could make requests of his own. "I would offer to make suggestions, but I feel that this isn't really my area," he said, indicating the books she had returned. What he had seen suggested far more female protagonists than his own forays into romance or erotica usually contained. "I believe the Library has its own post box, so if you are unable to leave the pub I'm sure you could send your requests in this direction. Although I suspect I may become a regular patron before long," he added.
Once the books she was checking out had been written down he did a quick survey of those she had returned. None of them appeared damaged and flicking through a random two didn't show any writing in the books. "I suspect this job will require less book repairs than my previous one," he muttered mostly to himself. There weren't a great number of traditionally bound books in the library, which part of him found a little disappointing, but was understandable.
He cleared his throat. "Here are your new books, I haven't yet found any stamp or other method of recording which books have been borrowed, so I have taken the liberty of writing these down. I shall be investigating further though. I am glad somebody else in this community enjoys reading, however. Perhaps by the time you return I will have instigated...something." He looked slightly lost. He was perhaps making it more complex than necessary, but a small part of him was missing the formalities of his former life. He still still hadn't quite passed the books to her. Two centuries of trying very hard not to give away his books was a hard habit to break. Even when the books didn't actually belong to him.
