Rey cracks a brittle, small smile when Alicia finishes speaking. "It's nice to meet you, too." She took a steadying breath. "You remind me of a dear friend," she said, as if out of nowhere. "She was patient like you," she explained. The thought of Leia caused more tears though and Rey hit the sand next to her - on her side away from Alicia - out of frustration, trying to get ahold of herself. "I'm usually so..." She didn't know how to say it - emotional? Fragile? But Rey had changed, and recently so, she knew.
"Sorry," she said, almost out of habit. She'd always been a strong person and always been good at defending herself when necessary, but she was completely out of her element here, and it seemed the grief she'd held at bay - for the loss of her dreams of her parents, the loss of the other half of the Dyad, the loss of too many of her friends in the war - had caught up with her.
