Edward woke with a start and sat up, looking about. He frowned faintly at the unfamiliar surroundings and let out a curse, revving up to a good rant.

"Not a-fricken-gain! Come on! I was just getting use to where I was!! Stupid gate! Throwing me to random back water worlds! Couldn't you of sen- Whoa!" The small blond tripped and landed face first on the ground. He laid there for a moment, growling before sitting up and yelling out. "God damnit that hurt!!"

He sat there and rub his nose, looking around again. "Man...Where am I?"

Al was on his way back to his room just after playing video games with Susan, Gray, and Astor. He was glad to know that there were other kids on Mirage besides Violet... although he kept the fact that he actually was older than them all to himself. Learning about 'electronics' had been interesting.

Al opened the door, walked in, stopped, and blinked on confusion. There was another bed in the room... It had a journal lying on top of it. Curious, Al went over to inspect it. His eyes widened when he saw the lettering on it. That could only mean...

Al bolted from the room and ran out the door as fast as he possibly could, running to the main area of the resort and going to where the others got their keys. He saw a light blinking with a key that had his room number on it. That meant no one had greeted him yet... Snatching the key, Al shoved it into his pocket then went outside, looking around desperately for the person he hoped was here. Why else put him in the same room?

Seeing someone not so far off, Al ran off in that direction. As he neared, he saw long blond hair held back in a ponytail and his face split into a wide grin. He slowed down a little but not much when he clearly could see it was Ed.

"Brother!" he yelled, full out tackle hugging the other Elric.

"ACK!!" Ed cried in surprise before stopping. "Al? Al what are doing here?" The smaller blond hugged his brother back. "Where ever here is."

Edward looked around curiously then down at his arm. "Hey...it's my old automail..What the hell?" He looked at Al. "Okay. What's going on here Al."

The small blond always hated not knowing what was going on. Lack of knowledge was just as dangerous as too much knowledge.

"I'm so glad to see you!" Al said enthusiastically. His face threatened to split apart, his grin was so big. "You missed all the snow! When I arrived, it was everywhere."

He let go of his brother, looking down. "Your limbs..." he trailed off, face falling for a moment, then looked up at Ed hopefully. "I met someone here when I arrived who said something about being able to regrow limbs... Maybe, if I talk to her, we can find a way to help you... but I suppose I'd better explain where we are first. I'm still getting used to it myself," he admitted sheepishly. "We're in a different world again. I don't think it's another side of the Gate. This place is called Mirage, though. I haven't met anyone from Amestris, but there are lots of people from the other side of the Gate here. And guess what?" Al added. "We can use alchemy here! And I don't need a circle anymore! I can do it like you, just by clapping my hands!"

"I'm happy to see you too, Al, even if you are still taller then me." Edward patted Al's shoulder and listened as Al explained.

Ed face was thoughtful, golden eyes staring out into the distance as he thought.

"So we are in a completely different world all together huh? With people from all over. Sounds like some have abilities we've never seen..." He looked to Al. "I'm proud of you Al. You've grown in some many ways since I saw you last."

Al laughed, pushing him playfully back. "If you're lucky, you'll still grow a bit more." He made sure to keep the word 'short' out of his sentence.

"Yeah!" he agreed when Ed spoke about the other people. "I met this lady named Tonks and she's a witch. At first, I thought she was talking about alchemy because she has a Philosopher's Stone in her world too but it's a really different thing there."

Al reached up and rubbed the back of his head, feeling a bit awkward. "I haven't changed that much. I only saw you - Wait, what's the last thing that happened to you before you came here?" he asked, suddenly realizing that Ed may have come from a different time than he had.

	"Last thing?" Edward questioned. He thought about it. "This group of people had just done a test run to try and open the Gate. I saw one you're suits of armor. Nice work, Al. Though I'm not too happy that you'd endanger yourself like that." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Al's eyes widened slightly. "Brother, have I ever been with you on the other side of the Gate yet...?" he asked. "Because people here are from different times and I think you might be from before me... Oh great. Al resisted the urge to facepalm. Now he had to explain that, hey, he opened the Gate and almost destroyed Central in doing so. Ed would be really proud of him after he told him that. He sighed. "No, I wasn't hurt. I..." Al bit down on his lip, looking down at the ground. "I transmuted Wrath and Gluttony to open the Gate. Wrath did it to help me. Gluttony had turned into this... this huge monster. The ones you said who were experimenting on the Gate? They came through. But you came back too and we stopped them with the help of General Mustang. You went back across the Gate to take the soldiers who had come through back and, well, we were fighting on a ship. I jumped across and followed you through. We destroyed the Gate and General Mustang promised he would destroy it on the other side so no one else can get through it again."

	"Oh. That's nice. Well at least- YOU DID WHAT!!? Al! You could of been killed!" Edward was partly proud of Alphonse but partly frightened half to death that his brother could of been hurt. 	Al's shoulders hunched up a little as he flinched. "I'm fine, really!" he protested. A soft smile came across his face. "At least I can feel pain now, thanks to you. Thank you, Brother. "You tried to stop me," Al admitted with a little smirk, "but I wouldn't let you. That's not how we do things, remember?" He repeated a phrase he had said before when they had fought Scar while visiting Doctor Marcoh. "We're stronger together."

Al couldn't help but smile when Ed mentioned it. He waved the key to their room a little bit, grinning as he grabbed onto Ed's wrist and started to tug him back to the building. "Come on, you're in the same room as me!" he said, excitement clear in his tone. "It used to have one bed but now it has two and a journal was lying on the bed with your name on it so that's how I knew you were here."

"I remember Al." Edward said in his oddly rough voice, chuckling. "I remember you decking me to further the point then complaining cause the arm fell off."

The blond teen sighed. "It's been a long time since then." He looked down at Al's hand, his flesh and blood hand, as he grabbed his wrist. "So this place just random picks up people and has room for those that it does? Weird." He looked fascinated by the fact as he followed his brother.

Al laughed, remembering that moment. Not so long ahead, he had had no memory of that time at all. Not for the first time, he was glad he remembered everything again. He cast a quick, solemn glance back at Ed. Ed had kept his promise to him so now it was Al's turn to do all he could to get Ed's arm and leg back.

"Yeah, that's about it," Al admitted as he guided his brother back to their room. "I think it's sort of alive somehow, at least, that's what people have told me."

"Because it can sort of hear you. Here, I'll show you." Al paused for a moment, wondering what to ask for, then thought of an idea. "I want a suit of armor."

Just like that, an empty suit was dropped in front of him. Al gave his brother a quick grin, held out his bare hands so Ed could see that there were no transmutation circles on them and that he wasn't wearing any gloves, clapped his hands, then placed them on the armor.

Blue lines raced along the suit much like the markings of the Philosopher's Stone and the armor stood up. "Okay, now I would like a hat for the armor." In a second, a goofy, floppy straw hat was sitting on top of the armor's head. Al smiled at Ed. "See? It just gives you anything you ask for."
