She looked so cute when she batted her eyes at him like that.
"It's OK. Nathan gave me a hard time about that at first. We were playing this game called I never and his was I never had a Dad who wished I was a stain on the bedsheets and I told him he was welcome to mine. But my mom decided she wanted me in her life."
He grinned when she hip checked him. "Yeah, I guess you can find love in the strangest of places."
He hugged her back tight when she hugged him. He didn't know why he was pouring his heart out to someone he'd just met but there was something about her that comforted him and made him feel safe.
He buried his head in her hair and took a deep breath. She smelled incredible.
"Thank you," he said. "You are a very sweet girl and have a really nice way with words."
"Well I beg to differ. You sound pretty interesting to me," he said with a warm smile. "Well I think you should be more than a sidekick. You've got that hero look about you."
