Da 15
Who: Brigitte and Tonks
When: 12pm on Day 15
Where: Cafe
Why: Because people need to eat at least once a day?
Rating: TBD
Status: Active

Brigitte didn’t know what was going on with her today. She had bad dreams all of last night that forced her up in the wee hours of the morning. They were the usual nightmares of four-legged creatures, blood and a horrible sense of dread and fear. It didn’t take a psychiatrist to figure out what those dreams were about but Brigitte had never experienced so many in the past few days. She had to wonder if it had anything to do with the moon but the teen hoped not. Everyday Brigitte had taken a dosage of monkshood so surely she didn’t have to worry about changing again, right? When the teen had finally hauled her ass out of bed at 11 am, she had been overcome with a wave of nausea and was lucky to even make to the bathroom before throwing up.

Maybe I have a stomach cold, she thought once her stomach started to settle down. A hot shower made her feel a little better but soon a gnawing feeling developed in her stomach. Hunger or stomach cramps? Brigitte wasn’t sure but figured a cup of tea wouldn’t hurt at the moment. She dressed casually and comfortably in loose, well worn blue jeans and a light, long sleeved red shirt with a graphic design. Light enough for the weather but long enough to hide the scars on Brigitte’s body. Once her clothes were on she grabbed her beaten in black docs and set for outside.

The brunette was in for a shock when she stepped outside and discovered the place had changed yet again. Gone were the sandy beaches and brilliant blue waters to be replaced with green hills with tons of trees and greenery. It kinda reminded Brigitte of how the planet had looked when she first arrived but there were obvious differences. Like the rows and rows of vineyards for example. Brigitte might have been more unnerved If wasn’t for the fact that she had seen such a thing happen before, so she simply looked around briefly before heading to the café inside the resort. There would be time to explore later on.

Once she reached the café, Brigitte’s stomach pulled more tricks on her, sending a sharp pain through her midsection. The teen groaned, slumping over for a moment before the pain passed. She sought out a table close to the door and quickly sat down before her stomach acted up again. What the hell is going on? Whatever it was, it showed on Brigitte’s face as her skin took on a paler hue than normal. It seemed to take forever for a golem to come over though so Brigitte looked around the café. Was she the only one here?

No, there’s someone over there, she realized. “Hi, do you know if there are any golems around or is it self-serve today?”

Tonks was sort of vaguely uneasy, and had been since waking up in the morning. It felt like something was going to happen, but the young witch had no idea what. When she pulled herself out of bed, it was much earlier than usual. She enjoyed her sleep, that was for sure. Normally, when she didn't have to be at work or out on a mission, she would easily sleep until noon. Today, she rolled out of bed at 10.

She moved very slowly through the room, getting ready to go out into the world. A very long, very hot shower later, she dressed herself in her favored casual style of clothing, jeans and a t-shirt with a picture of a wizard rock group. Her hair, she'd had a bit of a revelation about. She'd gotten alright at making it glow slightly, but she was bored of the blonde color. Why not try to make her hair pink and glowy? So she concentrated on that for awhile, got to the point where she thought it at least shimmered slightly, and left it.

Once outside, she was more than a little surprised to see things had changed once more. She frowned as she looked around. Well, at least it would be new places to explore, right? But she was starting to feel a little mocked. Everytime she got ahead in her exploring, the Planet changed things up on her. With a soft sigh, the witch headed for the main building. Food would help, she was sure.

In the cafe, she seated herself in a booth and waited. And then waited some more. A girl entered the room, and she watched her for a second before resuming her waiting. However, when she was spoken too, her natural friendliness came out and she smiled and waved her over to join her at her booth.

"Hullo, who are you? I'm Tonks. I dunno where the bloody golems are, but I'm hungry. I'm giving it about 10 more seconds before I draw my wand and go take care of business."

"I'm Brigitte", the dark haired teen offered as she sat down at booth, her eyebrows raising slightly at the name Tonks. It was an unusual one but since Brigitte was fond of unusual names and liked the woman's British accent, she said, "Cool name". Then she realized what Tonks had just said and there was no hiding the confusion in her voice. "Draw your wand? What are you, a fairy god mother?" Her voice was a bit sarcastic but there was no malice in her words. For a moment Brigitte wondered if Tonks was a nut job but then she remembered her encounter with Elminster.

"Wait, hold up. Can you do magic? Like Elminster?" Brigitte asked, throwing out the old sage's name in case Tonks knew of him. "Is it me or is this place just full of supernatural creatures? Seems like I keep running into them". Given Brigitte's own condition it wasn't that surprising but she had gone fifteen years without ever encountering the supernatural world and now the past two years had been nothing but supernatural bullshit.

Another sharp pain distracted Brigitte from that train of thought as a golem finally came around the corner. About bloody time, Brigitte thought, wincing slightly but she kept her attitude to herself. The werewolf was still a little nervous about pissing off the golems and half expected the stone creatures to go bat-shit any day now. She let Tonks order first before telling the goelm what she wanted. "Tea with milk and sugar, toast...and bacon", she tacked on as a sudden craving for meat came over her. Normally Brigitte tried to avoid eating meat since becoming infected but suddenly she just couldn't get the craving out of her mind. Wanting to distract herself from her odd (or at least odd to her) request, Brigitte returned her grey green eyes to Tonks.

It wasn't in Brigitte's nature to be overly friendly or even overly talkative but being in this odd situation and stuck on Mirage had forced the girl out of her normal shell. After all, she wouldn't learn anything about this place or the people if she kept to herself and Brigitte believed knowledge was the key to getting out of any bad situation. "So I'm guessing from your accent you're from Britain right.....unless there's some other world or plane of existence where everyone speaks with a British accent", the teen added. So far she had learned that not everyone she met was from her world. "But how long have you been doing--" Brigitte broke off, gesturing with her hand as she forced the word out of her mouth--"Magic?"

God, she felt like a dork. What a lame question!

Still, Brigitte was curious to know the answer. In fact, she was kind of curious about this whole magic thing. While it was clear neither Tonks nor Elminster could escape Mirage with just magic, Brigitte had seen first hand some impressive magic from Elminster when he made her monkshood plants grow in a blink of an eye. It made Brigitte wonder just what else magic could do.

"Lovely to meet you, Brigitte. Thanks. My real name is just awful, so I go by my last name."

Of course, most people seemed to make fun of that choice, but then, they didn't know her hated first name. She intended to keep it that way, at least as long as she could. Of course, Ginny, the twins, and Snape all knew, but maybe it just wouldn't come up. She could hope...

And that all went out of her head as the teenager mentioned the name 'Elminster.' Oh, she knew Elminster alright... and it was clear in the flush that came to her pale skin, and the way she almost literally fell out of the chair onto the ground. Memories flashed through her head and she coughed slightly. It was the first time anyone had mentioned the wizards name in her presence since the trouble with the hormones.

"Yeah, uh, I know Elminster. He does magic a different way than I do, though..." She pulled out her wand and easily levitated the salt and pepper shakers, before turning the the golem, leaving them just hanging there in the air, and ordering a sort of traditional breakfast, eggs, bacon, fried potatoes. When the creature left, she settled the salt and pepper back on the table.

"Well, the natural stuff, the changing thing?" To demonstrate, she changed her hair briefly purple, then back to the shimmery pink she prefered these days. "I've been able to do this a bit since I was born, but couldn't really control it until I was a teenager. Bloody pain, actually, my body just randomly changing on me..." Though she spoke lightly, it had been very traumatic at the time. "But the wand stuff, I started learning when I went to Hogwart's at age eleven."

She flicked her wand, and a shower of sparks came out of it. Once more, and the flock of pink birds that she was so fond of conjuring. Then, purple smoke started puffing out, and the witch wrote 'Brigitte' with it.

"I'm not sure... I mean, there's witches and wizards, obviously, and I met a vampire..." She smirked a little, remembering her meeting with the charismatic Lestat, "But in my world, I sort of run into these things quite a bit, you know?" She frowned slightly as the teenagers face went blank with pain. "Hey... um... are you alright?"

"Whoa".

Brigitte watched with amazement as Tonks whipped out her wand and made the salt and pepper shakers levitate and then calmly made her own order while the condiments floated in the air. Then Tonks did something even more amazing to Brigitte, she changed her hair colour. Now that doesn't sound very dramatic but to Brigitte it was quite impressive to see a woman shift from pink hair to purple hair and then back to pink within a few seconds. Hogwarts? Brigitte thought, her forehead scrunching up at the odd name but she didn't really give it much thought. For the most part Brigitte simply couldn't get over the fact that Tonks could change her appearance so easily.

"I'm...I'm fine", Brigitte replied. Not the most convincing lie so she added, "I think I have a stomach flu or either that, I'm really, really hungry", she added sardonically. "You run into supernaturals a lot?" she asked curiously. Since Elminster, Edward, and John all knew about werewolves, Brigitte was sure there were others who probably did too and more than likely Tonks was one of those people. "So have you ever met a werewolf?" she asked, her tone light so as to not betray her interest in Tonks answer.

Unlike Ginger who throughly enjoyed being a werewolf, Brigitte was still looking for a way out of her curse. So far, no luck but that Brigitte more open to ways of dealing with her problem. Elminster and Edward had offered the teen their knowledge on werewolves and Elminster had even offered his help for when the full moon came around. Maybe Tonks knew something that could be of use to her.

It would be great if she could teach me how to shapeshift back and forth, Brigitte thought but that was unlikely, seeing that whatever Tonks was, it was clearly different from werewolves. Still, a question formed in Brigitte's mind that she just had to ask. "Have you ever turned into an animal Tonks?"

She grinned, clearly pleased by the teenaged girls surprise. At first, it had been weird, getting used to no one understanding what she could do. Now, it was just sort of neat. Clearly, someone that had brightly colored hair was going to be someone who loved attention, and Tonks was certainly no different. All these Muggles were doing wonders for her entertainment, though not in a malicious way. She was just more than a little delighted by the shock and surprise that most of them seemed to show.

Once the food was ordered and the condiments were safely back on the table, the pink-haired witch turned her attention back to the teenager. She raised an eyebrow as the girl tried to claim she was okay. Though Tonks might not seem it, she was fairly intelligent and perceptive. Had to be, in her line of work. And she was pretty good at telling when people were lying to her, in general. So when Brigitte changed her story slightly, Tonks nodded.

"Yeah, that's not very good, have you tried any potions to help with that?" After all, that's what she would do. Then, the teenager completely changed the subject, and Tonks tilted her bright head to the side and just looked at her for awhile. She didn't respond right away. Which was a good thing, as her conversation and lunch partner continued on pretty quickly. Supernaturals? Interesting enough. Werewolves? She pursed her lips. Very interesting indeed.

"Yeah, I got a friend back home, kinda had a bit of a crush on him for awhile, actually... over a long time ago, of course, but he's a werewolf. Nice bloke, good with kids."

She gave the teenager a searching look, and then leaned her elbows on the table comfortably. She was proud of herself for not falling over in the process. To most, this would have seemed like no big deal, but for her, it was a minor miracle. Making a quick guess, and having no idea if she was even right, she kept going.

"Yeah, so, my changing stuff... it's natural. Can't be taught. I mean, you could use spells, and I think Remus used a potion or something to keep his werewolf nature under control, mostly, but what I do can't be taught."

She, too, spoke in a very casual way, as if they were discussing the weather. She didn't want to make the girl uncomfortable, and if she was guessing wrong, well, it was just easier this way.

“Potions? No but then I never thought about it”, Brigitte admitted although she was thinking about it now. It appeared that Brigitte’s suspicions were right as Tonks confirmed that she did know a werewolf. In fact, she made it sound like it was downright ordinary to know werewolves but what really got the teen was what Tonks said next: Her friend controlled his curse with potions.

“Really?” Brigitte breathed, no longer able to hide her interest. It didn’t seem like there was a need to hide it anymore anyway, as Tonks already knew werewolves existed. “Does it work? This potion your friend makes”, she added to clarify. The teen knew she was being incredibly obvious now so she decided she might was well spill the beans as it were. “To be honest, it’s not a stomach flu that’s bothering me”, Brigitte explained in a low voice. “It’s more of a symptom of the full moon if you catch my drift”.

The girl didn’t elaborate further as the golem finally came out with their food. It smelled heavenly to Brigitte who had already picked up a whiff of it before the golem even came through the door. She said nothing as the creature set the food down in front of the women but eyed the bacon hungrily. It had been a long, long since Brigitte had eaten meat. For a moment she completely forgot about potions, werewolves and witches and focused simply on sated the hungry beast in her stomach. Not that she made a slob of herself but for a while it was easy to see that Brigitte was more interested in eating then talking for a moment. A few bites settled her stomach and Brigitte felt the pain in her stomach ease slightly as she ate some meat.

Maybe it was just hunger Brigitte thought for a moment but another twinge in her stomach corrected that idea. “Sorry, what were we talking about?” Brigitte asked after taking a mouthful of hot tea. “Werewolves, right. So you wouldn’t happen to know how to make that potion, would you?”

Tonks nodded thoughtfully as the teen talked. She'd kind of already figured it out, of course. Despite her clumsiness, which most people seemed to use to discount her, she was very bright. And the teen had made it fairly obvious, at least to an Auror like Tonks. There had just been too much interest for it to be a casual conversation.

"Yeah, I guessed. I saw it enough in Remus." The witch glanced up as her food was brought, her eyes lighting up. She was pretty hungry. As the golem set it down on the table, she once more levitated the salt over, this time to sprinkle some of the condiment on her food. Okay, so she was showing off just a little. It would have been easier to reach over and pick it up.

They ate in silence, and the Auror was just hungry enough to allow this. Normally, of course, she would have been chattering the girl's ears off, but right now, food was much more important. She did, however, notice that the girl spent much more time with the bacon than anything else. Yeah, definately a werewolf. When the girl spoke again, she was ready.

"Yeah, I can make it. I always got top marks in my Potions. But Severus Snape, he's here as well, and he's even better at it than I am. The best Potions wizard ever, really." She paused and wrinkled up her nose. "Kind of grumpy, though, but very talented."
