Day 12

Terry had dressed in his casual civilian clothes but one quick excursion outside made him quickly retreat back to his cave/room and do a quick change. Being inside for the past few days, especially being in his room had made Terry forget just how warm it could be at the tropical resort. He quickly changed into a pair of dark blue shorts, t-shirt and sandals before heading outside again. So far Terry hadn’t discover very much about the resort he was now trapped in and aside from Felicia, had yet to meet another person. Then again, seeing that Terry had spent most of his time in his room fooling around with his computer system in the batcave, that wasn’t really surprising. Three days of trying and he still hadn’t been able to get a hold of Bruce. I just hope the old man is surviving without…what am I saying? Of course he’s surviving. He was batman for decades before I came along. I’m sure he can managed a few days without me.

That comforting thought made Terry relax a little as he made his way out of the housing unit and into the area surrounding the resort. Surveying the beautiful landscape, Terry thought that there were worst places to be trapped. If I came here willingly, I would love this, the young man thought as he walked by the large golf course and a smaller, mini-golf course. Then he saw it. There were huge structures with long water slides protruding and empting out into clear blue pools of water. “Holy shit”, he muttered. Matt would die if he saw this, Terry thought, remembering his little brother. That caused a pang in Terry’s heart as he suddenly missed his brother and mother. This place kind of reminded Terry of trips his family had taken when he was a little kid. Wasn’t there a park like this in the next state?

Maybe it was the memories that did but suddenly Terry had an overwhelming urge to go down one of those large slides. Screw it, he decided after a moment of internal debate. Can’t be serious all the time. With that, Terry took off his sandals and shirt before making his way up one of the huge staircase and once he reached the top he saw that the slides had some safety instructions posted nearby. His eyes skimmed over the information before Terry flung himself down into the tube. It was a wild ride as his body slide down the water slide, slipping all over the place, twisting and turning. For a moment Terry thought his was going to be sick but it quickly passed as Terry let himself go to enjoy the ride. Nothing lasts forever and soon Terry crashed into the pool at the end. He went under at first but soon gained his bearings and broke the surface just as a someone was coming up to the side of the pool.

“If you’re thinking of going for a ride, I’d totally recommend it”, Terry told the stranger with a laugh. “It’s wild”.
