Who: Claire Bennet & OTA
What: Her arrival.
When: Day 12, morning
Where: The beach.
Rating: TBD
Status: In progress.

It was just one of those days. Upon waking and moving out of bed she had managed to step on a forgotten hairbrush on the floor, resulting in a brief but painful encounter and a squeal loud enough to wake a sleeping Mr Muggles who had been curled up on the edge of her bed. Her arrival downstairs had not been any more successful, if breakfast being burnt and the lethal hairbrush were any indication the rest of the day would gradually get worse. This was confirmed the moment Lyle entered the living room. Claire had for once ignored his brotherly taunting and leant back deeper into the sofa, bringing her hands up to cover her face. Of course ignoring said taunts only spurred him on further and she tried her damndest to tune him out, squeezing her eyes shut tightly behind her hands, reminding herself that yelling at him would only make the situation get even more annoying.

It was strange how life had slipped back into something somewhat ordinary, it had only been two months since the drama that was her dad's not-so-real death but now it was like it had never even happened. Claire could not forget what had happened, even if her family were insistent on doing so themselves. The unspoken words and the tension still hung in the air, even if the forced normality was doing a good job at masking it . Not to mention she missed her other family, Peter especially, it had been so long since she last saw them and..it was painful to even think about it.

“Just shut up!”  Claire yelled suddenly, snapping out of her thoughts and bringing her hands away from her face with an intent on glaring. Only what greeted her wasn’t the sight of her brother or her living room for that matter, it was some sort of beach. "Huh?" She muttered, blinking a few times as if expecting it to be an hallucination of some sort. Nope, it was real.

Climbing to her feet Claire absently dusted down her jeans and turned in a slow circle to take in her surroundings. What the hell? Had she been drugged? She had no recollection of how she had arrived, one minute she was being taunted by Lyle and the next on a beach! It didn't get any weirder. "Oh my god." Claire gasped, the Haitian! it had to be him, right? No, no.. her dad wouldn't have allowed her to be dropped off on some beach. "Hello?" She called out finally, hoping that someone, anyone, would help her out with what was going on

Kadaj stood on the beach, staring out to sea. He had never seen geography of this kind before where only the sun, sand and wind blowing moisture off the water worked illusions on his mind. Everything here seemed to say naught else existed but this eternally merging land and sea. He stood like a dark sentinel in his black leathers. Were it not for the silver strands of his hair being rudely tossled by the breezes, he might have been a statue so absorbed did he become. The scabbard hanging down behind him also stilled, maybe because he stood in precisely the right position to form a windbreak. Perhaps not even the planet's golems stood this lifelessly for only those with the spark of spirit could be hypnotised the way Mirage spellbound Kadaj.

He thought he hated this place. A beach fooled the eye into believing he actually looked at a full landscape but it lacked... his brothers. He hung his head. There would have been a sense of completion if he could only see the other two white-haired young men walk up the stretch of wave-washed sand toward him. Why exactly had he been taken but not them? All three had returned to the Lifestream, the time of their deaths coming close together. But only one had been plucked out of the Lifestream.

Quicker than blinking, he drew his double-bladed sword and turned and lunged at his imagination, where he envisioned his brothers scowl at him in surprise. He saw himself stop just short of letting Souba cut them.

"There you are! I thought you went mushy-soft because of Aerith, Yazoo. Loz, are you crying again!?" he taunted.

Kadaj thought he heard a voice. It might not have been any more real than the memory he spoke to but it was a stimulus not of his creation. Brandishing Souba so that the sun flashed off the blades in different blinding patterns than the way it sparkled off the waves, he ran toward the shout.

Kadaj certainly didn't consider how he might look greeting a strange woman with sword in hand and the love of the hunt blazing in his cat-like jade eyes. He stopped suddenly just out of striking distance. Whether this was intended to show he didn't mean to kill, or to be prepared in case she had unpleasant surprises, wasn't clear.

"Where did you come from?" he demanded, pointing Souba at her. He knew his own bootprints followed his path up the beach but hers began abruptly like she had been dropped here just a minute or two ago.

It was becoming clearer that her arrival on a strange beach was not at all a hallucination or a dream or anything equally as weird. Claire sighed and was about to call out again when she spotted a figure running toward her out of the corner of her eye, on instinct she spun around.

Was that a swor-“Hey!” Claire yelled as she jumped back, not caring if the stranger had come to a stop or not, for a second she thought he may have been intending on stabbing her or something. She did not take kindly to being threatened and add the current situation on top, it would be an understatement to say the cheerleader was confused and admittedly more than just a little freaked. “There’s no need to go pointing that at me..” Claire gestured to said item, not that it would do her much damage, but all the same it was the threatening nature she did not like.

“I..I was in my living room, I closed my eyes for like a minute and when I opened them I was here!” Claire answered, an edge of panic to her voice. There could be a million different reasons to explain what happened, The Company being one of them, but until she had any evidence that they were behind it she had to remind herself not to freak out too much. “What’s going on?” Claire demanded suddenly, it was hard to look threatening when she was a good few inches shorter than everyone else but she sure did try.

There was no apology since he didn't think he'd done anything wrong. Frightening yes but certainly not wrong. Wondering what the planet would do if he killed someone didn't mean he'd stab anybody. At least not a confused young woman who turned out to be smallish like a child. Of course almost anyone shorter than him was probably a kid.

Still, Kadaj sheathed Souba. The new arrival was upset enough and freaking her out even more wouldn't make explaining things easier. Not that he knew a lot yet.

"Living room, hn." He waved his gloved hand at the sand and sea. "You're lucky you have nice weather. When I was stolen it was storming. I think they called it a hurricane." He glanced assessingly at her. "All I know is this planet we're on, Mirage, has been stealing people from all sorts of different places and bringing us together."

Admittedly Claire had been waiting for some sort of apology or explanation for the threatening greeting, she didn’t think she looked threatening in the slightest. But she didn’t voice her opinions now the weapon had been put away.

“Stolen?” She questioned, her forehead creasing slightly at the thought it dredged up. That was another indication that The Company could be behind it, they stole people, her dad had been apart of the ones doing so. But he had promised they would leave them alone now, right? Claire sighed quietly, talk about complicated. Although she perked up slightly at the mention of bringing people together, that sounded familiar.

“Do you know if there’s a reason for that? Like something big we all need to fight?” Even more questions but this time she smiled friendly, trying to show she was not threatening in the slightest. Another thought hit her and she brightened said smile, narrowing her eyes curiously. “Do you..um,” she lowered her voice, hesitant, “have an ability?” Claire got ready to laugh it off as a joke if he said no.

"You were fighting something where you came from?" Kadaj wondered. Perhaps he was mistaken to assume she might be interesting only because she was small like a child. He smiled slightly. "I'd like to hear about that but first..."

He waved his arm and turned to face in the direction behind him, indicating a building in the distance. "The planet'll have a room for you. It seems to do that for everyone though I haven't met everyone here yet."

Kadaj blinked at her question about 'an ability'. What exactly did that mean where she came from? He shrugged and decided to take a stab at an answer: "Where I'm from, most people can't jump from great heights without being damaged, or killed." He smiled slightly again, thinking about how he and the woman named Trinity had jumped around from roof to roof for an enjoyable time just the other day. "Is that what you mean? Why, what's your ability?"

“Not something, someone. But that was dealt with..” Claire explained quickly before looking in the direction he had indicated to, a room? She didn’t want to stay! She had her family to go back to, a family that inevitably would begin to look for her if she had gone missing..that calmed her somewhat. “So they know if your coming or not?” Claire asked moving her gaze back to him.

The talk of abilities was always a tense subject for her but she had been the one to bring it up, she smiled a little at the mention of not being able to get damaged or killed, oh she knew all too well about that. “Not many can where I’m from either.” Claire stated, “let’s just say I know a thing or two about not getting hurt.” It could have been an innocent enough phrase but in answer to his question she hoped he would catch on, she was putting a lot of trust in the stranger so she hoped he wouldn’t go and throw it back in her face by announcing he was working for the company or something. Wanting to change the subject she smiled a little wider. “I didn’t introduce myself, I’m Claire.”

Kadaj watched her closely, displaying a calm demeanor now that he was well into conversing. He stood as straight as possible like someone who'd never forget military training though he was hardly dressed like anyone in service from her world. Of course he wouldn't know this but he suspected she didn't realise she was no longer on her home world.

"Yes, they know when you arrive." Nodding subtly. "So your ability is leaping? My name is Kadaj."

Claire took in the information but she was still being overly paranoid, mentally at least. Something just didn’t sit right with her at all, the circumstances were far too weird and compared to what life was like at home she had every right to be that way. She didn’t want to become some experiment.

“Oh not leaping, I..” She paused, how could she explain without sounding like a freak? There was no easy way, but she had meet some people, like Zach, who had found it kind of cool. “I can’t get hurt, no..that’s wrong, it does hurt but the wound heals.” Claire smiled hesitantly.

"You can't be permanently damaged? You heal rapidly? If you get hurt, is it less wounding than people without abilities?" he wondered. "As for me, I'm not too easily wounded though I rarely fall when I leap off a building. Follow me, you should read something." He started walking toward the building.

“No, believe me I’ve tried and I haven’t found anything that’s stuck yet.” Claire informed him, well, that wasn’t necessarily true, she had almost died permanently once and that was when that branch got lodged into her head. Damn Brody. “It hurts..but not as much as it would hurt someone without the ability..wait, you heal too?”

Now she was interested, she rarely met anyone who wasn’t in her family that had an ability so her curiosity had been well and truly poked. “Read something?” Claire pulled a face as she followed him toward the building, the last thing she wanted to do was read.

He nodded while walking and hearing what the girl said. Kadaj didn't really want to initiate a new arrival to the planet so the best way to do this would be answering her questions once she had read the plaque. She was lucky he'd even do this much, considering how before he had been killed back on his home world, he wouldn't have conversed with her.

Not that it mattered when she didn't yet realise she was on a different planet.

"I don't sustain damage easily and I do heal well," he said, marching forward almost like this was a military campaign. He didn't see her reaction about reading.

They were closer to the building and he started moving to one side rather than heading for the door.

Claire listened closely to what he had to say, her shorter legs almost jogging to keep up with his pace but she did so without a struggle. “So you’re kinda like me..but not.” She muttered, more to herself than to him but now she was confused, he either had her ability or not.

It wasn’t hard to forget but she had been somewhat distracted, she was still on the strange beach! Claire pressed her lips together in thought as she continued to follow, absently noting they were heading toward the side rather than into the building. She couldn’t actually be stuck there though could she? There was no way her father would allow that! Although Claire could look at the positives, she had landed on a gorgeous looking beach and not tied to a chair in a dark room or something equally as horror movie. The positives didn’t last long not when the big negatives kept demanding attention, the sooner she found out more information the sooner she could figure out a way to get home.

“Um, so this thing I have to read..what is it exactly?”

"Here it is," he said to answer her question after another few minutes. He had come to a stop in a courtyard from which they couldn't see the beach any longer. This courtyard was inbetween batting cages, which Kadaj didn't know what they were, and the indoor pool.

He stepped back and let Claire look at the plaque, waiting to see how the girl would react.

“Oh.” Claire frowned a little and moved to get a closer look at the plaque, she didn’t understand how this was relevant to how she had arrived or anything of the sort. Although as she read the first sentence she changed her mind, she understood.

After reading she remained silent for a minute or two, folding her arms across her chest stubbornly. She did not like the sound of this one bit, Mirage was not meant to be home, she had a perfectly good one back in California. Claire turned around slowly to face Kadaj when she was ready to start asking questions. “Who’s the planet? What kind of name is that!” She asked incredulously, sure the plaque had explained a few things but nothing that actually helped ease her already paranoid mind.

Kadaj let her digest the information in silence, not at all impatient. He didn't really feel like initiating someone to this world but then he didn't have a lot of other things to do either. In a way it was like when he had been in the Lifestream, except that here he met living people while there he had immersed himself in different memories, his own and those of others.

"I don't know who the planet is. I haven't been here that long myself," he explained. "What I do know is people are being stolen from many different worlds and not all of them are friendly." Especially Anakin the Jedi pretender. "The planet changes its weather. I arrived in a hurricane. It changes our rooms to look the way we want... oh right, you'll probably have your room key waiting for you already."

Claire nodded slowly, trying to digest the information she had been given. Right, so the first question that had yet to be answered was who the planet was but she would have to find that out from someone else. “Different worlds?” She raised an eyebrow and if it had been in any other situation she would have called him crazy but really? If it were possible for there to be evolved humans then other worlds shouldn’t be that surprising. It did sound like something from one of Zach’s crazy conspiracy message boards though.

“Looks like I got brought here on a good day.” Claire mused, looking back at the plaque again. She liked the idea of her room being the way she wanted it, hopefully it would look like the one she had back home. It would make it that little bit more bearable. “Where do I get the room key?”

It was somewhat amusing the intonation in her voice when she repeated 'different worlds'. Had the girl but known his reputation back on Gaia, her obvious wondering about his sanity would have been nothing. Not that it mattered now except to tell him she didn't believe in different planets.

"Hnn, good day alright. And I think your key's being delivered to you." He pointed in the direction of an odd-looking manlike creature that had just come outside to the courtyard. It was dressed like a man but its face resembled stone. It approached them, or Claire in particular. "I heard people call them golems," Kadaj added.

“Being del-“ Claire started to ask in confusion as she turned but the sight of the approaching creature caused her to stop speaking abruptly. She shot a questioning glance at Kadaj before taking in a deep breath, what the hell?

“Golems..right, okay.” She muttered, speechless as the golem had stopped in front of them. Claire spotted the room key reading “Room F204” and wasn’t sure what to do next, after a few beats she reached out slowly to retrieve it almost afraid the creature would grab her hand or do something equally as scary. “Uh, thanks.” She nodded at the golem..wait, he was stone?

"Apparently they don't talk and yes, the planet made them just like it made everything around us," Kadaj decided he might as well explain what little he had learned so far. He didn't have any particular motive to make life more difficult for the girl.

"F204? I'm in 200 so I guess I could show you where that is." It briefly occurred to him he didn't know who any of his 'neighbours' were until now.

As he said this, the stone creature turned away.

Kadaj waved his hand at it. "Unless you want that to show you around? Or do you want to explore the resort? There's a map just in there." He nodded in the direction of the nearest door.

Claire was still amazed by the creatures and absently nodded, she was doing a lot of that. “The planet made them, right got it.”

She blinked a few times and moved her attention back to Kadaj now the golem thing had moved away, she was pretty sure her expression conveyed just how amazed she was by everything. “You could? That’d be great..I somehow don’t think talking to a stone thing would get me very far conversation wise.” Claire smiled, looking toward the door he had nodded at. “I think I’ll leave the exploring until later, there’s only so much I can take in at once.” She laughed lightly.

He nodded slightly and went toward the door, which opened to a hallway. Cool air flowed out in Kadaj's direction and his eyes, like a cat's in appearance also functioned as a feline's would. He could make out details inside when most generally saw a wall of darkness after coming in from a sunny day.

"Ok, I'll take you to Building F." Having calmed down from his mad dash up the beach, he stood there rather than walking ahead quickly. No one seemed to be inside. He guessed when they turned left after a few steps he wouldn't see anyone in that corridor either.

Claire followed once he had started moving, making sure to keep up because she did not want to get lost, that would make things ten times worse. Despite having regenerative abilities her eyes were not like a cats as his was so when they entered the hallway she blinked a few times to get used to the light difference, it passed soon enough though and she could see where they had ended up.

“Thanks.” Claire smiled, continuing to follow him to wherever he went and absently looking out for other residents, she really was thankful. If she had been left alone on the beach she would have without a doubt freaked out even more.

"You're welcome," he responded, acting as if it was something he normally said when someone telling Kadaj thanks was not at all usual. But a good warrior had to know how to adapt in times of peace as well as in war.

They went down the long corridor to another door, stepped outside for just a couple of paces before going into the next building. "This is F," he stated, glancing at her for a second. "Lets walk up." Kadaj needed to move though he'd go in the elevator if she really preferred.

The amount of doors to go through and corridors was slightly more than Claire would be able to remember, she could see herself getting lost in the future atleast until she got used to the place. But she was hoping she wouldn’t be there that long to have to, but just in case she made a mental note to go wandering later.

“Lets.” Claire smiled, she had no problems with walking. That was another good thing about her ability, she didn’t get tired as easily as someone without the ability would.

Despite himself, Kadaj nodded approvingly at her apparent state of fitness. Saying that she couldn't be harmed and being able to keep up were entirely different things. It didn't take much time at all for the young people to arrive at the upper floor. He strode into the corridor like he owned the place. Until today, he hadn't actually come across any of his neighbours.

"Here you are then." He looked in the direction of her room not far from his own. "Go make of it what you will - literally." Kadaj was certain the girl didn't want his intrusion into her new personal space. He merely waited for the end of his unexpected welcoming duties, not too concerned about whether or not he was bad at such interactions.

Even without her ability she would have quite a good level of fitness, if she didn’t then cheerleading would be out of the question and so would gym. Claire came to a stop when he did and looked toward the room she figured would be hers since it had the room key number on it, she didn’t understand what he meant by literally until she actually stepped inside.

“Woah.” She breathed, glancing around the room that look so familiar she thought she was back home again but one quick check over her shoulder reminded her she was still on the resort. “It’s exactly like my room back home!” Claire called back to him, it was only then did she realise he wasn’t by her side anymore. She poked her head back around the door with a smile, “did you want to stay or go?” She asked as politely as possible, she didn’t want to sound rude but if he had other places to be she wouldn’t stop him.

Kadaj waited for her to see what was in her room. It was more curiosity than being polite though he had already observed first-hand how manners could work in his favour. This was his own experience, not memories from Sephiroth nor ideas Aerith had spun for him in the Lifestream.

He gave his complete attention to Claire when he heard her comment and smiled slightly at her sticking her blonde head around the door.

"I assume you'd like to be alone in a room like one back home?" His eyes did stray toward the room as if he wanted to see what 'back home' for her was. "I really don't know much else to tell you about his planet and since we're neighbours, I'll see your room sometime. You can see what my version of back home is too, if you want."

He thought he had actually done that quite well and she could decide without being rude whether or not she wanted to be on her own now.

Claire’s smile brightened, she wasn't particularly shy and the little reminder of home had lifted her spirits just as much as it brought a pang of sadness. She wasn’t actually home but her room was the next best thing. “No, I don't mind. Do you want to see?” That answered his question and she waited expectantly, her head still poking around the door.

“Your room is like back home too, huh?” She asked, it was interesting. Some people when given the choice of any room they wanted would choose something more exciting but Claire was happy with her reminder of home, a whole new room would have made the experience that little bit more unfamiliar. “I’d like to see it sometime.” Claire answered with another smile, she was grateful for the company, being alone would have made the situation much worse.

Somehow her smile and attitude were infectious, making his face brighten up in a way that had nothing to do with magic or Materia glow. Moments like this, where he responded without dire events about to unfold, where life seemed simply light rather than a heavy burden, seemed to occur regularly on Mirage.

"Ok," he said and he moved toward her door. "You can see my room after I see yours," he agreed as he went in to see what sort of space Claire had come from. He already knew it would be very different from his though he had no preconceptions about how it would look.

His green eyes scanned the room.

Her room suited her personality, it was cute in a way you would expect a teenage girls room to be but it wasn’t filled with bright colours. Instead the walls were a more mature shade of lilac, the furniture also light. Actually now that Claire took a closer look it was more of a cross between her room in Odessa and California, even a few family photos she had back home were up and she smiled as she caught sight of them. The only thing that was missing was Mr Muggles.

“This is it, sort of like back home..I moved house and it’s a bit of a mix of both rooms, but I can’t believe how exact it is!” Claire laughed again, “the only thing that’s missing is the family dog, Mr Muggles.” And he usually took refuge on her bed.

Claire turned around to face Kadaj, waiting to see what he had to say. She was intrigued and wanted to know what his room looked like but she would be patient, or try to be anyway.

He wasn't exactly sure what to say about the room, never having seen anything like this. Not that there weren't walls nor beds and other furniture home on Gaia, but no one had actually invited him into their personal space before. And none of the memories, whether from his own brief time of physical existence or from the memories of Sephiroth, yielded the colour of lilac he now saw.

Kadaj strode around and paused to look at the photographs, comparing the faces in them to hers.

"The room looks like.... you." Well, it was a compliment.

Claire stayed where she was, she had no need to go look around the room because she had seen it all before. She curious to see if her clothes were the same though, there would be a slight not so important problem if they weren’t. Unless of course they were new and the style she liked, but fashion wasn’t the most important thing on her mind. Everything looked how it did back home so far, except for the view out of the window, now that was different.

“Like me?” She laughed a little, trying to decide if that was a compliment or not. “Is that a good or bad thing?”

"Hn, I guess that's a good thing." He didn't feel at a complete loss for words but searching for relevent comments had never been a challenging thing for him. Not one to slouch, he nonetheless stood up at tall as he could possibly be and he paced toward the door, then away.

He stopped to give her a direct, open look. "I don't know what else to say. The room is light and you have a light smile. So it's like you, isn't it? It's..." He turned around again, waving his gloved hand. "It's familiar but it's not..."

Kadaj stopped at the door. "Let's go see what you think of my room."

“Thanks,” Claire kept her smile in place, so it was a compliment. She was never sure how someone would take her, she was more than just a pretty face and blonde hair. In fact she hated when people made the assumption she was a stereotypical cheerleader, so it was a relief and acceptance was sort of something she always looked for.

Claire followed him toward the door, stopping when he did. “Ok,” she agreed brightly, making sure she had her room key on her, the last thing she wanted was to be locked out of her room on the first day. Claire waited for him to lead the way, her curiosity was poked again and she briefly wondered if everyone had kept their rooms like back home.

Kadaj unlocked Room 200. He left the door wide open when he walked in, apparently fading away into darkness. For a moment even his silver-coloured hair seemed to vanish.

Yet the room wasn't unrelenting blackness. His was silver and graduated shades of blue. A beautiful array of stars and moon stretched overhead in a ceiling that seemed to be the sky. Two walls curved away like the interior of a massive shell, forming an interior cove which had large cushioned chairs in it. The rest of the space attracted the eye with a display of glowing trees. The trunks and branches looked like a negative image. Part of this mini forest made the headboard for a dark platform bed. It had to be optical illusion but the branches seemed to tower far overhead.

Kadaj stood in the middle of the room with the moon over his shoulder. He watched Claire's reaction.

Claire had hesitated at the door, the darkness had given her the impression he had actually disappeared into it but a closer inspection told her a different story. Her eyes widened and her mouth opened, she had never seen anything quite like that before!

“Wow!” She breathed, stepping further into the room and continuing to let her eyes sweep around. “This is amazing!” And she meant it, her room seemed boring in comparison. Everything from the stars to the glowing trees was responsible for the expression of awe on her features. If she had a room like that she would never leave, there seemed to be something to catch your attention wherever you looked.

Her eyes moved back over to Kadaj and instantly fell on the moon behind him and then back again. “No really, this is amazing.” Claire repeated with a wide smile.

He nodded, looking subdued though her reaction pleased him. Kadaj lifted his left hand and indicated the trees off to one side. He gazed at them fondly.

"That looks like the Sleeping Forest on my world," he explained softly. "You can see it's a beautiful place and unlike anything else I've ever seen. I liked living there." He turned slightly, waving at the sitting alcove. "And that's sort of like a house of the Ancients in the Forgotten Capital. You can make your room look like anything so here is what I created."

Sighing sadly, Kadaj gazed up at the moon. He wished his brothers were here.

As he indicated toward the trees she looked toward them, her mouth still hanging open slightly at the sight. She had never seen anything so breathtaking in her life.

“I bet you liked living there, it looks beautiful and..wow,” Claire looked sheepish for a moment, she had been saying wow a lot but when she was shocked her vocabulary was limited. “House of the Ancients?” She repeated curiously before looking toward the alcove. “Well I can definitely see why you’d choose your room to look like this.”

Claire flickered her eyes toward Kadaj at the sigh, her smile faltering slightly. “Do you miss home?” She asked gently, she had only been there for a short amount of time and she already wanted to go back.

Kadaj nodded that yes, he did miss home, to put it in her words. She was very impressed with Mirage's mini recreation of his world but her tone made it clear she'd rather be in her room, the one that was back at her home -- no matter how beautiful his environment seemed to be.

"I miss my brothers," he said softly, sinking down to sit on the bed. He stared down at his boots for a few seconds before raising his head. "Supposedly we're stuck here. We'll see about that..."

Claire understood, she missed home already. She would even rather be sitting on the couch with Lyle in her ear taunting as usual, but the chances were she really was stuck there and she would have to accept it sooner or later.

“I miss mine too, even if he’s the most annoying person I know.” She offered a small smile, staying put not wanting to invade any personal space. “Who’s your brothers?”Claire asked curiously, he didn’t have to tell her but she left the question open if he did want to talk about it.

Not sure about what to do but not concerned about following social norms either, he just reacted to the situation as it happened. After all, who was to decide which social structure you heeded when someone you talked to was from an entirely different world?

Kadaj straightened his posture from forlorn teen to military man but it was the sad brother who answered Claire. "Loz and Yazoo. We've all got silver hair. Who's your brother?"
