Day Twelve
Who: Mamoru and OTA
What: Going back to the Games room
When: Around noon
Where: Games Room, of course.
Rating: TBA
Status: Incomplete

He really had a good time playing games with Giselle, and he couldn't have known before hand what an amazing selection the Planet had. Video games had always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for him. Of course, being a student, he could hardly spend all his time playing them, but having a friend who ran an Arcade was remarkably convienant.

Still, even Motoki didn't have the range of games that this place had. He'd intended to go check it out, and after a long shower, and some breakfast, he was ready to go. It was sunny out, and it was a sign of him growing up, he figured, that he felt a little guilty spending a day as beautiful as this one inside. Especially after the storm they'd had recently. When he was a teenager, of course, he woudln't care. Now, he had to buy himself off with the promise that he'd go jogging along the beach later.

Quickly, he made his way into the room with the amazing supply of games. No one else was there. He wasn't really surprised, given the weather outside. He went over to the beanbag chairs by the TV, and sat down in one as he started rifling through the games. He picked out a game he'd never heard of, but that looked good. A racing game, actually. He plugged it in, took the controller, and was just picking out which vehicle he wanted to race with when the door to the room opened.

Walking down the hall, the set of matched twins seemed so engrossed in conversation that anyone watching might assume they wouldn't even see another person had said person been around. Alas, how wrong this assumption was as they might have discovered but since no one came across them, they made their way to something called a "Game" room on the map.

"I'd still like to know where Tonks has vanished to," George was saying.

"Both her and the mysterious neighbour in the room next to us," Fred commented. "If we hadn't both seen Tonks, I'd start believing she was a figment."

"Maybe we could make our own map of this place. That way we'd never lose her." George was talking about an old parchment they had 'borrowed' while they were still at school, one which had been enchanted to show the location of everyone within the boundaries of Hogwarts.

Fred looked excitedly at his brother. "Yes!" They had arrived at the door and stopped for a moment. "If Tonks isn't here, let's go outside and see what's there. We really need to be back home."

They pushed their way through to the game room. Or rather, they peered in at the room in surprise. "Cor...," said one of the red-headed boys. "...blimey," the second one completed. All the muggle electronics distracted them so much that they didn't immediately notice the person already in the room. They would have seen him right away had he been sporting bright pink or purple hair.

"Oh hello," they greeted in unison as they walked in and noticed the other man. He didn't have to be standing for the lads to see how well-muscled he was and that he'd probably be taller than their lanky height of around six feet.

He heard someone approaching, and he listened while appearing to still play the game. He was good at that. You learned a lot like that, just by keeping silent and appearing to do other things while listening in on conversations. The voices came closer, and then the games room door was opened.

He didn't really know what was going on, at first. It appeared that someone was talking to themself, really. Which was more than a little odd, and not at all common as far as Mamoru was concerned. He frowned, wondering who Tonks was, and then shrugged it off, deciding he really didn't much care.

Of course, when he was directly addressed, he did pause the game and turn to face the strange person who had been talking to themself. His eyes widened as he saw the twins, mirror images of each other. Well, that made a hell of a lot more sense. He nodded at them politely and rose to his feet. He did, indeed, rise several inches above their heads, just as they had thought.

"Hello. Feel free to use the games, I don't mind."

"We're George and Fred Weasley," one of them introduced and both smiled at him. "Pleased to meet you."

Today they wore matching clothes, almost. George had on a blue shirt and grey trousers while Fred was in grey shirt and blue trousers. Their moves matched one another generally but they weren't completely synchronised. It just usually took knowing them a little while to start seeing the differences.

At the moment the lads studied this stranger before glancing away at about the same time because the room was very distracting. Never had they seen such a collection of muggle electronic things and it showed in their expressions. Awed curiosity best described their faces. Then they looked at him again.

He nodded at their introduction, and studied them closely. After awhile, he smiled slightly at them, and bowed just a little.

"I am Mamoru Chiba, but I see that you aren't from Japan, so if you wish, you may call me Darien. I respond to either."

He tilted his head to the side as he saw them look around the room. It was odd, it looked like they'd never seen anything like this. Yet, they were teenagers, and dressed in fairly modern clothing.

"Haven't you ever seen an arcade before? This is just like a really good arcade."

"Dad would love this place," Fred commented, his eyes opening wider as he looked around again. On second inspection he took in more of the slightly bewildering lights and patterns, though it didn't really make sense to him yet. Fred meandered in the direction of the games.

"We can call you Mamoru, if that's alright since it's what you're called at home, right?" George said. So far he liked meeting someone from Japan; it wasn't genuine manners that made the lads rebel. It was people trying to control their free spirits. "We're wizards and magic doesn't go with electrics so no, we've not seen an arcade before," he added to answer the question. "So if it's not too much of a bother, do you mind telling us about all this?"

He nodded approvingly. It wasn't that he minded being called Darien, as most people not from Japan seemed to have an easier time with it, but it was always nice when people made an effort to call him what he went by normally, at home.

"Why would you father..."

He shrugged it off, not really knowing why it would matter. After all, their father wasn't here, and probably wouldn't be. So he didn't need to know why the father of teenaged boys would be the ones that would love an Arcade. It was just a bit different.

That was quickly pushed out of his mind at their casual comment. He looked at them, wondering if they were teasing him. But they seemed to be completely serious. He frowned.

"Wizards..? Real wizards? Um..." He blinked. It wasn't so much harder to believe than many of the things he'd seen here, so he nodded slowly, and addressed their question. "Sure, I can do that. What would you like to know? I can show you the arcade games..." He set the controller down, leaving his game paused, and started wandering over to the arcade games section.

"Dad loves muggle things," George replied. "I mean, non-magic things."

Fred wandered back to them and stopped next to his brother. "It's true," he assured. "There's at least one more of us here, a witch who's our friend." Instead of answering the man's question right away, he said: "Watch" and there was a wand in his hand. He waved the wand, saying: "Accio!" to have the controller Mamoru had just left behind fly into his hand.

Meanwhile, George commented: "Show us what you like to play?" He couldn't have picked one game out over another at the moment. They all looked fantastically distracting.

"......Muggle. I see. I've never heard that word before."

He smiled slightly at the enthusiasm of the twins, and shook his head. If he'd ran into them on his own world, he would have assumed they were full of it, or maybe insane. Here, though, there was enough odd things and people that he shrugged and just went along with it.

His blue eyes widened as he saw the magic, and his faith was rewarded. He let out a soft whistle, and then looked at the boys. Despite himself, he was impressed.

"Well... you might like the shooting game. You can play against each other, see?" He led them over to the game, and handed each of them a control. "You have to see who can shoot the most zombies."

The lads did take the controls and looked at them curiously. Of course they could have just started pushing buttons even if they hardly knew what to do, but first they had more comments to make.

"Zombies?" Fred questioned, thinking he almost knew what that was.

"Inferi, I think," George answered and shuddered a little.

Fred took the other controller he had accioed and put it beside the second one, visually comparing them, while George took his wand and waved it over his own controller. As he did so, buttons pressed seemingly on their own and something happened in the game. Two sets of brown eyes glanced up at the electronic happenings.

"How does it do that?" Fred wondered.

"How does it do that andwork when we use magic?" George looked at Maromu as if remembering the other man was there.

The young man smiled at their questions. It seemed odd to him that people who claimed to be wizards wouldn't know what a zombie was. But that was quickly cleared up, and he watched as the boys started playing with the controllers.

"Yeah, Zombies, the living dead... they're bad. You shoot them. Whoever shoots the most wins.""

It seemed simple enough to him, at least until one of the twins waved his wand. Icy blue eyes widened as the buttons pushed themselves, and he, for once, couldn't hide his surprise.

"Well, you pretty much got me. I don't know anything about magic..."

The lads turned away from the killing zombies game to give their attention to their new friend. They might have been young but they also ran their own business back home. They were adept at judging people and relied on usually infallible instinct.

"We don't expect you to answer that one, mate," Fred said.

"Magic and muggle electrics don't work in the same place in our world," George explained. "But they do here. For some reason magic doesn't interfere with the energy field of electricity on Mirage."

"So we're trying to analyse why in the lab."

"There are charms and spells used to study how magic's woven together to accomplish an effect."

Fred nodded. "So we're trying to understand how electrics work here. We're probably going to have to create new charms to figure it out."

"But our work's probably boring to you and we interrupted your play," George said. "Do you mind showing us how you play Zombies and we can figure it out from there?" He offered his controlled to Mamoru.

He nodded, accepting their words, because what did he know any different? He pretty much had to go with what they said. They could be speaking total nonsense, and he'd never have the slightest clue.

"Oh."

The one word wasn't much of a response, but it was about all he felt qualified to give at the moment. But when the controller was handed to him, it was a different story. First Giselle, now the twins. He was starting to think he should give lessons or something.

"Alright... you just point the gun at the screen using this button..." He pushed one of the buttons, and the bullseye on the screen moved around. "Until you find a zombie...." He stopped it over a zombie on the screen. "And then you press this button to shoot it." He pressed the right button. "Simple. These games don't take a lot of brainpower."

"Brill!" they said in unison. What followed was a session of unexpected fun.

Did the lads feel at all guilty about not pursuing information from their new friend? Of course not! They knew they could do that in an hour, or two, or three...

Apparently they weren't escaping Mirage anytime soon.
