"A hat is always good. Especially during a parade." He insisted very matter-of-fact, looking around for a moment as if expecting a parade as it was mentioned. When he spotted nothing but the same weathered beach he returned his attention to the Joker, his grin fading to little more then the slightest curve of his lips.
"Mercy." He repeated, making a face of disapproval at the concept, and swung about the umbrella as he turned away from the beach. "This way then. No point in standing about in the rain." Hatter instructed, tone almost chastising the other as if he hadn't been walking around in the same weather himself just moments ago. A fact he promptly decided was no fault of his own. Surely he had been out to collect this new fellow who looked very much like himself (even if the fool had no hat).
"Ah!" After several long strides, he paused and swept the hat off his head, having forgotten to introduce himself. "I am the Hatter and --" He stopped, brows furrowing at catching sight of the top of his hat where the hands had stopped on no moods at all, which was obviously quite wrong as he'd gone through a few emotions recently. Tapping the glass and starting to walk again, he quite forgot about his companion, concerned that his hat was broken. It would be quite a shame. He would be late (his watch was still a day behind and three hours ahead {and it wasn't even supposed to show HOURS }) and unfeeling at this rate.
