Who? The Doctor & Sonya Blade
Where? Outdoors, the meadow near the mountains.
When? Day 7, afternoon.
What? Love-fest!
Rating? PG-13 to be safe.
Status: Complete.

As usual, the Doctor had been working on the TARDIS most of the morning, but had become so frustrated by his lack of progress that he decided to take a scenic route back to the resort to calm himself down before lunch. He was aware that there was actually nothing wrong with the TARDIS; it was the planet that was backwards, not his ship, but he couldn't help but fiddle with it. Doing absolutely nothing about it would drive him even more crazy.

Unfortunately for the Doctor, his scenic route wasn't going to be as relaxing as he had anticipated. As he made his way across the meadows, he started to feel strangely light-headed. At first he shrugged it off with the assumption that he was just hungry, but it started to get worse. His fingertips were tingling as his already acute senses started to become more sensitive. The breeze on his skin made the hair on his arms stand up as the unusual sensation started to spread up his arms. His mouth was going dry with an unexplainable anxiety that was washing over him, accompanied by a slightly queasy feeling in his stomach.

He lifted a hand to his head, stopping for a moment to take a couple of deep breaths; if he hadn't known better he would have said he was slightly aroused and perhaps even lovesick, but... no, that was completely ridiculous. He probably needed some water, food, and a nap, then he'd be right as rain again.

Sonya had risen early as usual, preformed her usual routine of jogging and working out before heading off to breakfast. After a quick breakfast Sonya had sequester herself to the library for a few hours for further research about the layout of Mirage. So far her research had yielded little information so Sonya decoded that her past route next was to go out and explore the place for herself. Mostly she was curious about the mountains and how hard of a trek it might be to get over them. Like she had told Commodore Norrington previously, she was determined to find a way back to her own realm.

That being said, Sonya wasn’t about to go mountain climbing today, she was simply looking to observe the area and take note of what she would need to climb the mountain. So the solider remained dressed in her black jeans, tank top and sneakers as she left the resort and trekked across the field. Sonya was nearly at the edge of the meadow when she realized there was another person out in the field.

Her first thought was that this was a new arrival. Sonya sighed in an annoyed fashion, she really wanted to get a look at those mountains but she couldn't just ignore him. What if he needed help? No doubt he would be confused and disoriented like the rest of them had been upon their arrival. In a resigned manner, Sonya started toward the man but as she came closer she began to doubt that he was a new comer. For one thing, she was oddly certain she had seen him around somewhere before. The restaurant maybe?

Either way, it couldn’t hurt to check. “Hello”, she called. “You’re not new, are you?”

The Doctor could smell the woman approaching before he saw her, which wasn't exactly normal. He had heightened senses at the best of times, but this was ridiculous. I smell the blood of a human female, he joked with himself rolling his eyes at his own madness. And yet there was a part of him that didn't seem quite so eager to dismiss it, a part of him that started to take over as she spoke to him.

"No, I'm not new," he responded, his voice not quite his own. Nothing unusual enough for a stranger to pick up, but he had definitely dropped a couple of keys, slowing his words down to what he could only describe as a seductive tone... but for the life of him he had no idea why. She was an attractive young human; blonde, pretty, good figure, hot blood pumping through her veins, a hint of sweat on her soft skin... but that was very, very rarely something that would distract the Doctor so violently. He was sick, it was the only explanation!

He opened his mouth to excuse himself quickly and stop matters getting out of hand, but for some odd reason it didn't come out quite as he had planned. "Are you new? I think I would have remembered such a beautiful woman." His eyes grew wide in surprise, and he almost clamped a hand to his mouth to stop himself... but then it had been said and all he could do was look shocked, and open and close his mouth, searching for an apology like an idiot.

Sonya eyed the skinny man coming toward her with a slightly wary look. She was usually suspicious of strangers but she was glad he wasn’t new. The solider hadn’t been looking forward to having to explain this mess to another stranger. Norrington had handled it pretty well despite having some issue with her clothes or seemingly lack thereof but she was sure someone was going to freak out eventually.

Unless this planet is picking people who are use to the unusual, a quiet voice suggested in her mind. It was interesting idea. Perhaps Sonya ought to investigate it later on. First things first though, the stranger was asking her a question.

The solider raised an eyebrow when he remarked that she was beautiful. It was nice but Sonya was never moved by compliments or flattery so she didn’t really let it get to her head. “Thank you”, she said simply. “But no, I’m not new. I’ve been here roughly three days. My name’s Sonya Blade”, she said, offering her hand. “How long have you been here for?”

The Doctor was grateful when Sonya didn't seem too bothered by his extremely out of character attempt at flirting, but then came his next obstacle - she wasn't leaving, which only meant he'd have to have another go at forming sentences.

"That's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard," was the only comment he seemed capable of making about her name. Are you in West Side Story, now? he asked himself, but that logical part of his mind never seemed quite capable of making it to the surface. "I'm the Doctor. Just the Doctor," he told her, his words running together a little as he started to become strangely breathless.

And then she was offering her hand, and that could only mean trouble for the Time Lord. His senses were so tuned in all of a sudden that he wasn't sure exactly how he'd react even to something as small as a handshake. It had been years, decades since he'd been so suddenly hit with what could only be described as lust. It was unnatural, and as he took the woman's hand he felt a strange shiver run through his body with the smallest amount of contact. He wanted inside her head, he wanted to lift his hand and touch his mind to hers and explore the very recesses of her soul... but he never, never did that without permission, why the sudden urge to do it now?

He pulled his hand back quickly before he pulled her toward him; was he actually afraid of himself? "A week. I should... I think I should probably..." he trailed off. His mind longed to leave, but another part of him kept him glued to the spot. "You smell amazing," he told her eventually. Was that really necessary?

Wow, you are laying it on think buddy, Sonya mused as he told her that Sonya was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. “I’m sure that’s not true”, was all she said out loud. So the stranger was a doctor and preferred to be called Doctor. It was a little reassuring to know they had someone in the medical profession on the planet should anyone get hurt after a moment Sonya started to wonder if he was unstable. For one thing, he seemed incredibly tense. Then he remarked how great she smelled.

The blond rose a quizzical eyebrow. “Uh huh…um, thanks. I guess” . Since Sonya was in no mood to discuss how she smelled, she promptly ignored the comment and focused on what really interested her. “If you’ve been here for a week have you seen anything that might indicate why we were brought her?” the solider inquired. “And do you know anything about these mountains?” she continued, glancing up at the sweeping peaks.

“No one’s tried to climb them yet, have they?”

The Doctor was quite certain it wasn't true, as well, but for some odd reason he wasn't able to explain himself probably in words. "Oh, you wouldn't think so..." was about all he managed, sounding more anxious than convinced by his own sentence.

He almost grimaced as she accepted the compliment with such grace. Really, it was quite lucky he'd found someone so calm and self-assured to act like a complete freak around. His head was fuzzy, and the tingling in his fingertips just wouldn't go away, even though he'd resorted to wiggling his fingers in an attempt to sort of... shake it off.

And then she started speaking logically, and the Doctor tried hard to just focus on her words. Hopefully the normal, logical conversation would snap him out of whatever was happening to him. "Um, I think... the planet needs a population... uh... a civilisation... there's..." he frowned, his throat going dry again; he was never nervous around women like this. It was completely ridiculous. He'd completely forgotten what he was going to tell him, all he could focus on was her scent, the desire to touch her again... he was thinking like some sort of animal, it was very undignified. He gave a soft whimper, tearing his eyes from her to look out at the mountains in an attempt to calm himself.

He swallowed hard, trying trying to clear the lump in his throat. He needed to get away, he needed a cold shower, he needed to collect his thoughts... no, no, he needed to smell her, he needed to taste her, he needed to touch her, he needed... "I need to lie down," he gasped, slumping to the floor as soon as the words had left his lips, his head flopping forward to his knees as if trying to stop himself from fainting.

"A population?" Sonya remarked. "You think someone brought us here to re-populate the place? Hmmm..." The blond crossed her arms and stared thoughtfully at the mountains. "It's possible", she admitted. "I don't like the implications of that idea though. It means whoever brought us here is really going to fight against letting us escape". It also means they might have brought us here for breeding purposes, Sonya added silently, an idea that disgusted her too much to share. While she was caught up in these thoughts, Sonya ignored the doctor momentarily until she heard a soft whimper. It was coming from the doctor!

The next thing she knew, he was on the ground! "Are you okay?" she asked in a startled voice, crouching down and placing a hand on his shoulder. Maybe he's over-heated or having some sort of reaction...or drunk, Sonya added. "Do you need medical assistance?" She felt stupid asking a doctor that question but he seemed unwell so Sonya wanted to know if there was anything she could do.

"Do you want me to go get help or do something?" Sonya inquired.

"Not re-populate. I don't think it ever had one to begin with, unless you count the stone men," he said, his words flowing together in a rather incomprehensible manner as he tried, with great difficulty, to focus on simple, logical ways of talking. He had so many thoughts on the planet's intentions, on who might be behind it, the things he had discovered so far... but all he could do was stare at her.

He almost flinched as she touched his shoulder, his gaze moving to her hand as his pulse started to race even more. On Gallifrey, breasts had about as much sexual connotations as elbows, and although the Doctor could appreciate the human form, it was different parts of the body he tended to find arousing. Hands, for example, had a great deal of sensuality about them, so his sudden staring at the hand on his shoulder wasn't exactly innocent on his part. "I... yeah, yeah, I'm... really good. Fantastic," he said, a little breathless.

His eyes moved to her face once more as she asked him if he wanted her to do anything. My god, the things he wanted her to do. And he knew that if he wanted to, he could make her do them just by taking a peek inside her mind... but no, he wouldn't do that, couldn't do that... he was thinking like a complete beast, what had come over him?

"No, you don't have to do anything, just..." he trailed off, a hand lifting to gently brush her hair back to expose her temple. Of course, he knew that the act would seem entirely innocent to a human, even if a Time Lady would have slapped him by now. There was a good reason that ceremonial robes incorporated a cap to cover the temples and a pair of gloves, and this was definitely the reason.

What is wrong with this man? Sonya wondered as he touched her head. The move had surprised her so the warrior hadn't made a move to block it but after he touched her, Sonya took her her hand off his should and gently grabbed his wrist to guide his hand away from her head. She didn't see it as sexual in anyway, Sonya just wasn't a touchy-feely person. Especially not with strangers.

"Oookay Doc, if you say so", Sonya murmured as she let go of his hand and studied the man for a moment. I wonder if he's drunk? The solider kept that thought to herself as she continued to assess the Doctor's condition. He had refused help and despite his odd actions, he seemed relatively okay. Maybe he's just weird.

"I have to say you don't see very well. Are you sure there's nothing I can do?" the solider inquired. She paused for a moment as one idea came to mind but she hesitated to suggest it since she had just left the resort. "Would you like me to help you back to the resort or find someone you know?"

Although he gave another small whimper as she did so, the Doctor was actually quite grateful that she removed his hand from her head before he lost it completely. He wasn't behaving at all like himself, and it was rather disturbing. Her grip seemed to ignite his skin, even though she was only holding onto his wrist, and the very presence of her seemed to be driving him mad with desire.

He nodded emphatically, softly pulling his hand free and deciding it was safest to clasp them together in his lap to avoid further unwanted touching. He'd let himself get too involved with Rose; it was dangerous, he was opening up parts of himself that had been left to gather dust for the past couple of centuries... and now he's unlocked... some sort of sexual deviant? This had been exactly what his people had warned against, and he had laughed at them. Well, he wasn't laughing now.

"Uh... no, no... don't do anything. Just... don't touch me. I don't know. It's you, you're having this effect on me..." he tried to explain, although he was sure it sounded even crazier than his previous comments. "Not that I'm blaming you, I don't usually..." he trailed off, looking down at his clasped hands rather embarrassed by the whole situation.

"It might be better to leave me, actually," he suggested, somehow able to force the words out of his mouth when his body really wanted to suggest she did anything but leave him. He was afraid of himself... he really was afraid of himself! He gave a small groan, gripping his hands together a little more tightly to stop himself from pouncing on her, every muscle in his body going tense as if getting ready to attack. "Go, go... please," he said softly, almost desperately. He needed to be alone. He'd go back to the TARDIS and hide away until he'd calmed down. Apparently he wasn't in control of himself for the time being.

Sonya opened her mouth to protest when he said it was her. She wasn't doing anything and as far as she was considered this was his problem, not hers. Yet she stopped herself when he continued talking. The Doctor sounds so confused and slightly panicky that Sonya couldn't bring herself to yell at him. When he told her to go, it was an order Sonya decided to follow gladly, without protest.

"Alright Doc, can't say I didn't try to help. I don't know what your problem is but I hope you can figure it out", she replied as she straightened up. Her expression was suspicious as she looked down at the Doctor on the ground but her eyes betrayed a trace of pity. Something was obviously wrong with him. It was just too bad she couldn't do anything to help.

As she started to walk away and head toward the mountains, Sonya glanced back over her shoulder to offer some parting advice. "Maybe you should go inside out of the sun. Might make you feel better". With that she turned around and faced her next problem, the mountains ahead of her.

(OOC: Shall we call that a wrap?)
