Brigitte moved deeper and deeper into the forest and felt as though she had entered another world beneath the canopy of the trees. The rich smell of the earth and moss lulled the teenager into a peaceful state as her green eyes adjusted to the growing darkness. Perhaps it was the wolf within the girl but she felt utterly comfortable in the forest. There was this odd sense of coming home or finding her place in the world.
If she had been thinking clearly these feelings would have upset Brigitte. Normally, she wouldn't want to feel like she was part of the forest and she certainly wouldn't want to feel at ease with her werewolf abilities like she did right now. The teenager breathed deeply again but this time caught a different scent in the air.
It was mixed with the sweet, grassy scent she had enjoyed earlier except this scent felt...warm. Solid, like an animal. But what animal? Brigitte didn't know but she had this overwhelming curiosity to find out. Soon she was moving between the trees with natural ease, her face tilting occasionally as she followed the scent.
For a few moments it seemed like she was losing the scent so Brigitte started moving faster, eventually breaking into a run. It felt so good to run, so good to just let go and enjoy her natural urges. The scent was fresh once more and Brigitte followed it to a cluster of trees. Her slender form cut a path through the bushes but Brigitte stopped abruptly when she realized she wasn't alone.
A boy was in the forest with her. Brigitte stopped and stared at him, her lips slightly parted. The smell was coming from him.
