Shannon closed her eyes in a slow blink when he brushed away her tears. Hell, even Sayid and Boone had never done that. It only served further to confirm that she wasn't a bad person for feeling so drawn to him; for feeling the way she did about him. She couldn't count the men she left in her wake if she tried, but it seemed like every minute she spent with Dean, be it on paper or in person, he seemed to make himself stand out from the crowd more and more.
"Sorry," she said softly giving him a weak smile. "It's just..." she paused and laughed humorlessly at herself. "No one's wanted me around in a long time. Like actually wanted me around...not just to, like, lust after me or make himself feel like a big man for protecting me."
Licking her lips, Shannon shifted herself on the bed, turning on her side and propping herself up on her elbow. "It's nice. I missed it."
