Into the Woods...

River had a long first night at the resort. It was hard for her to fall asleep in her new room without the fear of something terrible about to happen. She missed Simon and the crew. She even missed Jayne, as crude as he was. She was going to take a while to adapt to the changes that surrounded her in this new world.

River woke up mid morning, later than was usual for her. She went through the books that were still laying on the floor from her emotional fit the earlier the day before but suddenly became restless. Pulling on her pink sweater over her white tank, that hung loose over her skirt she, again, abandoned her combat boots and ventured outside.

She had only been as far as the main enterence, and the lake, and back. She decided to explore a little.

Approaching the woods River noticed many things she was not used to seeing. The small animals and different types of trees. It really was a different place outside of the planets she was used to.

River bent and picked up a stick, examinening it she heard a noise. She stood up, listening intently to the noises around her; searching for it's source. She heard it again and turned around to face a girl.

"By any chance did you see some parts this direction? I dropped my bag and a few things went flying" Violet explained. She had been crusing the trash cans of the resort after running low on parts pre crashing into a doorway (the parts flying in the process). The bag was full of parts she had found around the resort and one hook was peeking out (perfect for grabbing things from trees and the occasioanl high shelf).

	River tilted her head at the girl. "Parts?" River looked at her feet and sure enough there was a crushed can. She picked it up and looked over the object with a curious expression. "Do you mean this?" River handed it out to the girl. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I did didn't I." River thought about Kaylee again. "I have a friend who is very good with machines. It is almost as if they 'speak' to her. Not literally of course, inanimate objects do not speak. 	"I'm 16 as well. Yes I have an older brother, his name is Simon. How much older are you of your sibling?" River was surprised by how much they seemed to have in common. 	River laughed a little at the idea of baby teeth becoming a fatal weapon for some unsuspecting hand. "That's nice that you were so close to your siblings." River was missing her brother more and more while she listened to Violet recall things of her siblings. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"Why do you want them here?" River was curious as to the girls reasoning. She had wanted Simon to come but was afraid that she was being too selfish. 	"That is true. I sometimes wish my brother, or any others from the crew, would come here but...I feel it might be selfish." "Why is it some humans are so in love with money?" River wondered out loud. She shook her head, she understood better now why Violet would want her siblings to be here with her, "At least you would know they're safe." she said more as a statement rather than a question, "Unfortunetly my 'family' are safer where they are at. They are smart and can handle themselves...." she let herself trail off thinking of the alliance attacks and bounty hunters that would hurt the crew and her brother as they tried to find River. "Safer without me." she said looking away.
