Not for any magical reason or memories returning, but because he can't actually remember the last time he's been touched, memories too blurry and unfocused, remembering too much of being in Black's consciousness-- of not even having a body, having nobody there to touch him.
The gasp that shudders out of him almost sounds painful, so overwhelmed by the sudden contact, made worse by the sound of Keith saying his name, saying his name like that.
He stares at their hands, trying to remember how to breathe, his entire body feeling like it's only fire, shivering with the force of remembering what it feels like to be touched, even such a small one like this.
He's alive. He has a body. He can be touched again. It's too much. It's a thoroughly involuntary reaction when tears slip out of his eyes as he looks up at Keith, equally as wide-eyed as him. He tries, desperately, to remember how to breathe again.]
