"Yeah, of course you." Carter grinned up at Graham, pleased that the prospect of his company could elicit such an enthusiastic response.
He took off toward the carnival entrance as Graham retrieved his things, trusting the taller man to fall into step. Carter gave his own cane a jaunty twirl, not really needing it this evening. There was something to be said for the heat--his joints ached far less in warm weather.
"There's bound to be a dairy bar in town," he said, unconcerned. "What have you been up to, Graham? Had a chance to do any dentistry lately?"
