If there was anything Walt hated more than uppity accountants and their spineless friends, midgets with mouths too big for their bodies, and the word 'no', it had to be waiting.
Walt was an impatient man, inaction was not his style. They would say good things came to those who waited for them, Walt would say good things came to those who took it upon themselves to go out and get them. Unfortunately, the whole debate lost its pertinence when it came down to waiting for a pot of water to boil.
Walt squatted in the grass next to the small fire he'd put together, a pot of water suspended over the flame by a crude framework. More than once he had the impulse to stick his hand in the water to see if it was at least getting hotter, or just because.
Instead, he stood up, moving over to where his unicycle was laid over on the ground. A quick kick up found him seated on it in the blink of an eye. He made a couple loops around the fire going forward, before he quickly changed gears and headed backwards in reverse, arms spread and not bothering to look where he was going, weaving looping circles in his 'yard'.
