"So good to hear! You've really turned that joint around since you've been in charge," Marjan said, feeling very pleased that she'd made the right choice in hiring him for the job.
Marjan followed him onward toward the foodstuffs. "It's such a relief - things are finally picking up. But I suppose we should've known you can't keep a good circus down for long."
She paused for a moment, trying to think of what else to say to further the conversation. It wasn't as though she wasn't enjoying their little chat - far from it - sometimes, it just wasn't entirely clear what the next step was.
"How is your brother?" she asked finally. She didn't talk to Danny much, but he was part of the larger family, just the same.
