If there was one thing Marjan could never be accused of, it was subtlety. She was about as subtle as a sack of rocks. And what few compliments she tossed out, she meant. Carter was one of them. He was born to be one of them! And he just happened to be one of her favourite performers. Not a lot of people who'd grown up with rubes took to the life like he did.
