That was one of the few things he liked best about Tom. He didn't have to hide anything from the man. Sure he lied and even joked around at times, but at the end of the day, Quinn knew he could to talk him about almost anything. He knew he could trust him, just like a son could trust his father.
"It wasn't easy," he chuckled lightly, brushing his hair back and away from his face. It wasn't all too difficult either though and he made that fact known by the nonchalant way he shrugged his shoulders. "Took a bit of searching, but here I am now. Right at your doorstep. I guess it wasn't that hard, eh?" As reserved as Quinn could be on most days, it was easy talking to Tom. He was practically family after all.
He was asked if he was working for someone else and Quinn shrugged once more, kicking at the few rocks that littered the ground. "Was," he replied coolly, trying his best not to think too hard on the real reason why he left. Thankfully, his previous employer had understood, even offered Quinn a raise to stick around. "I needed a change of scenery." It was partly true. He mostly just needed to get away from the city, away from the memories. "It's great to see you too though, old man." And that was the damn truth.
The reunion was nice and all, but there was more than one reason why he had spent all his time looking for Tom and missing his face was only the second one. "So... you wouldn't happen to need a guy like me around parts like these would you?" There. He said it. He didn't need to say he missed him. That should have been obvious by now.
