In Olivia's mind, there was no question about it; a stranger wasn't going to be left out on the porch in the pouring rain. Elizabeth on the other hand, was quick to dismiss Olivia's concerns, pointing out that the woman had an umbrella - all of which launched them into an argument that fortunately enough was short lived as Olivia refused to relinquish her grasp on the door and finally pulled it open to reveal a rather innocent looking woman. About their age, too. Now, was that someone to be afraid of? Truly, honestly? Olivia barely bit back a remark and instead, focused on the woman before them.
"If you've come to sell something," Elizabeth began, but a soft shove in the ribs told her to shut up. Manners, manners. "Never mind that, do come in. It's really going to come down out there." It was Olivia who reached out to beckon the woman inside. And both women seemed to shuffle back in learned unison to give her the space to come into the hallway.
"Now you've done it." But Elizabeth's words were cut short. Bound as she was to her sister, she could only follow. "It's nothing that a cup of hot coffee won't fix. Excuse the mess."
