Graham normally avoided all social events of the sort, but when he'd shown up expecting a meeting and had been surprised with a party, he just couldn't figure out how to leave without looking rude in front of his co-workers and, more importantly, the new boss. He desperately wanted Tom to, if he wasn't going to like him, at least not outright hate him, and so he decided to force himself to stay, for at least a little while.
And so, he found himself a seat in the corner and smiled periodically at people passing by, and tried not to look too obvious every time he checked his watch and wondered if an appropriate amount of time had passed yet. This latest watch check, he let out a sigh and decided to find something else to distract him until he could escape unnoticed.
This distraction just happened to come in the form of Jimmy, a man who he'd never met before, but who was currently asking for a refill of his drink.
Graham got up from where he was sitting and hobbled over, leaning heavily on his cane. He gestured to the two nearest bottles - one containing something clear, and one containing something pink (he didn't know liquor) and gave Jimmy his best welcoming smile.
