{ w h o } Madison, Danny
{ w h a t } trick or treat?
{ w h e n } some evening
{ w h e r e } in camp near Washington, D.C.
{ r a t i n g } TBD
Hallowe'en was a time for hijinks, or so Danny and Carter had both believed since childhood, and Danny saw no reason for that to change now that he was an adult. A wiser man might have kept his head down after brawling with Walt Schmidt and setting a tiger loose, but the fallout from those incidents, so far, had been minimal. Besides, the target of this particular trick was Madison, and Danny figured the odds were in favor of her being a good sport.
He crouched between a couple of booths, waiting for the little dancer to walk by. It never occurred to Danny that it might be unfair to hide from a blind person. Madison seemed to manage as well as any sighted individual, in fact, her other senses were so keen that Danny had had to put considerable thought into this challenge.
Thus Danny had picked a spot downwind from where the horses were corralled, so she couldn't smell him. The nearest booth had an awning that hung loosely and flapped in the breeze. Danny almost believed that Madison could hear his heart beat. He hoped the snap and crackle of canvas would muffle any hint of sound that would give away his whereabouts.
Now all he had to do was wait for her to pass by.
