The very last show for the new escape artist ("Edwin The Elusive" as he billed himself) just happened to take place immediately after The Daring Mr. Danger's last show for the night. Of course, Walt had been forced to ride his unicycle straight from the ring to the elusive Edwin's show tent, hatchets and all, if he wanted to make it before clean up.
He got there just in time to see all the patrons leaving, chattering to themselves about the show. Walt didn't bother trying to eavesdrop, he just got down and wormed his way through the small crowd and into the tent. He carried his unicycle into the tent, dropping it and the hatchets inside the door.
He walked up the middle aisle, no sense of shame as he hoisted himself onto the stage. He was always curious about new performers, even if half of them turned out to be hacks. This guy though, he could be the real deal, possibly. The possibly was what caught Walt's interest. Possibly someone as reckless as him.
Walt walked up to the tank, rapping his knuckles against the glass and making a low tunk, tunk sound.
