Alene had only been at her jobs for less than a week and already she needed a day off. The kootch show was no big task, really, so she hadn't taken the time off of that, but leaving afterward had proven to be more difficult. Baltimore was far busier than Philadelphia, and Monday had been busier than even Friday. She'd turned down work, of course, because she'd needed some time to gather herself.
Her clientele had been across the board, all over the place. Young men, old men, soft men, rough men. A couple had scared her, but she knew she would have to learn better. She was on her own for the most part, besides having Lola and a couple of other girls working. She tugged her thin coat around her small frame as she walked back to the trailers and spotted a figure near the door. Sighing, she stepped up, wondering if they were waiting for Lola or herself.
If it was Lola, well...the light was not on inside of the trailer. Surely anyone could see that?
"Bonjour. Lola isn't here. I am too tired." she called out, instatntly regretting the fact that she was turning away a potential client. "Can I help you?"
