{ w h o } Gil and Rémy.
{ w h a t } The first day of the rest of their lives.
{ w h e n } Thursday evening.
{ w h e r e } Dining tent.
{ r a t i n g } PG.
{ s t a t u s } Complete.
Having just been hired that afternoon, there shouldn't have been any pressure for Rémy to do much of anything other than settle in just yet - his first day wasn't technically until tomorrow, after all - but he was desperate to keep on top of things right off the bat. There was so much to learn, and so much to do, and the last thing he wanted to do was get himself fired over something that could have easily been prevented.
And so, he'd acquired a list of performers he'd be 'barking' (strange, crude word, but these were strange, crude people) for, and had spent the afternoon at the Midway, watching how it was done. When he knew enough to convince himself that he could do an infinitely better job than they were doing, he set out to find the performers themselves to see if they had any suggestions on how he could get a leg up on the competition.
First on the list was the escape artist, and someone he was sure the lackadaisical talker at the door wasn't doing justice. From what he'd gathered, at least, it sounded like the man was pretty highly-skilled compared to some of the other acts. Hopefully, he wouldn't be an asshole to work with.
Rémy took his dinner to go and went to look for Gil. He didn't have to look far, as he was easy to recognise from what Rémy had seen on his posters. At first, he'd worried that perhaps Aimé would have gotten there first, but he reminded himself that his brother wasn't as eager to please as he was right now.
Rémy approached the escape artist hesitantly, unsure what to expect as far as his personality went. He tended to expect the worst when it came to Americans he hadn't met yet.
"Pardonnez-moi, are you Edwin the Elusive?" he asked him.
