{ w h o } Walt and Gil
{ w h a t } A letter left on Gil's step
{ w h e n } Monday; late afternoon
Walt's writing was atrocious, crooked, and messy as if it had been written in a hurry. The letter itself was in terrible shape, bent in several places, crinkled, in possession of a few small tears, and covered in dried watermarks, some of the light and some of them dark. The ink had run in some places.
Gil,
I got out of my casts, no thanks to you. My legs are fine! If you're curious, I used a [the writing is illegible here due to a watermark]to get the rest of the way out. I didn't even cut myself. You worry too much.
Did you know there's a cave near here? I didn't until someone mentioned it. I came by to ask if you wanted to go but you weren't here.
I'll stop by later before I leave.

The text following after was written in fresh ink.
P.S. Sorry the letter is so messy. I took it with me when I went for a bath.
