Supplemental meat
Who: Michael and Patty Where: Some natural area on the way to the next city What: Hunting When: Sunday morning Rating: PG for swearing likely (warnings for breaking down dead animal)
Michael finished cutting the last of the belly meat away and tossed it onto one of the stacks he and Patty were working on. It was a macabre sight as he stood up, his hands and forearms covered in blood. To preserve his clothes he'd stripped down to an undershirt, bracers and the trouser he reserved for hunting even though he knew Patty would likely start in on him about him being too thin again. He picked up an axe and went to work breaking each of the ribs on the bear so they could get them out as well. Times were far, far too lean to let anything to waste as the two of them broke down the carcass and packaged it up to take back to the cooks.
Taking a break, Michael wiped his hands and arms clean on an old rag. "What do you think we should tell them it is?"
