Don't take drinks from strange men
Who: Madison and Danny Where: Outside the big top What: Madison starts to feel the effects of her "healing" When: Late Thursday Rating: PG- (warnings for vomit) Status: Incomplete
Madison hadn't really been disappointed when the Reverend hadn't been able to cure her blindness. Sure, it would have been nice, but really she had never had sight and she thought she got along fine. It would have been nice to see colors. That was the one thing she really had a hard time imagining. What a color was. Over time she'd learned form her Mama what colors went together and what didn't, but she didn't understand very well what they were. What did blue look like? She would have liked to know that.
It was in the middle of her act that she felt the first wave of nausea and a sensation of burning on her skin. With barely a bobble she kept going, but after a second and then a third, Madison cut her act short and dismounted. Madi barely even took time for bows before she bolted backstage to vomit into a bucket.
When she came out of the tent, trying to get back to her trailer, Madison was pale, soaked in sweat and half bent over from the pain in her stomach. She had been so careful since coming to the new carnival, but it looked like once again someone had managed to spike her food with something. She managed to make it a few more steps then stopped, reaching for the wall of a trailer to steady herself.
