Who: Althea Hobbs and Dell Lloyd. What: Uhm, being awesome? Actually, about to go out to dinner. Where: Hobbs' residence. When: After he gets off work. Why: Because Jake offered to take the kids
Status: INcomplete. Summary: Basically, Demelza Hobbs takes a piece out of Dell. IDK what follows. We'll see. :)
Dell had quit his third job, simply because two were clearly enough and with two supplying their basic needs and then some, it was much better in arrangement for him to be home with his girlfriend and two kids at night than working the late shift at the Have it All. Because, at this point, he was so burnt out anyway--he didn't want to ever stock another roll of alphabetized toilet paper in his life.
After a rousing morning of grill service at Charlie's and an interesting conversation with an elderly man about whether or not these 'fucking werefucks' should be running around having children or not, he had headed off to Peeled to quickly and quietly work on his edible garnishes. This was something he enjoyed. He loved being creative with a tomato or peeling the outer layer off of something ugly and making it beautifully wondrous. It made him feel successful. Which was part of the reason he hadn't minded when Demelza had threatened him with her cane that morning (after both Cora and Percy had heard Lia's colorfully verbose video that had sparked his daughter into saying 'fuck' over and over and over again).
But that night, when he planned on taking Althea out for dinner (once Jake had taken the kids), Dell hadn't been expecting to be locked out of the house. And while his higher temperature helped him feel a little better about standing on the porch, he wasn't thrilled to be kept out in the cold. He knocked a few times, but no one came to the door.
And that was when Dell got very, very angry. Tempted to jump down the chimney in fox form and take on Demelza himself, he only managed to keep from doing so by calling Althea on his cell phone. Thank god for modern technology.
After several rings, he sighed heavily into the receiver, leaning his head against the door frame. Finally. "Ally, Grandma Hobbs locked me out of the house. Somehow. And she won't let me back in."
