It wasn't a stupid question. It was a very legitimate question to ask, or at least James felt like it was. But when Fisher turned it around on him like that, all he could do was smile a little in response. If he'd given him any reason at all, it would be "just because". There would be nothing further that he'd be willing to give. But he didn't even have the chance to answer, not that he was upset by that in the least.
And there was that word again. It made him shift almost uncomfortably beneath the other man but he didn't say anything about it just yet. Instead he just took a breath and accepted it, let him say what he wanted to say, a bit of a grin tugging at the corners of his lips as he finished. He opened his mouth to speak, but again he wasn't given that opportunity. And again, he wasn't upset in the least.
Hands that had been tentatively placed upon Fisher's thighs moved up to encircle his waist, giving him a bit of a squeeze before they slid up over his back, hooking around him to pull him down tighter against him as he kissed him back, tongue dancing with his own. The rate of his heart beating inside his chest doubled in mere seconds as he allowed a soft whimper to vibrate against the other man's lips. And as if the answer wasn't obvious, James whispered as he pulled away just enough to breathe, "I want you to stay."
