If he had told him he was wrong, if he had lied, which James would have known he was lying, then it would have put an end to all of this. James probably would have snapped, maybe like he snapped when Natalia tried to leave him. Or maybe he would have been fine with it. Maybe he would have just let him walk away and pretend to be none the wiser, threaten to kill him if he ever told anyone what he'd said. But as it was, he didn't have to think about that, because Fisher wasn't lying to him.
The aforementioned smirk formed upon his lips when it was brought up, but then his eyes closed and the expression softened as he focused on and enjoyed the feel of Fisher's fingers in his hair. "Good," he replied, and then frowned a little as his eyes opened. "Or not good. I haven't really decided yet." And then a thought came from nowhere and the words followed immediately thereafter.
