He was difficult to get much of a response out of aside from that. Daniel McGaven was a master over his own emotions. He always had been, always would be. The only person in existence that had ever managed to break him down was his daughter, which was perhaps why he should be bothered that Zowie was so similar to her. But as she had said, she wasn't his daughter. Therefore, there was nothing to worry about.
He could feel her behind him, hear the clicking of her shoes on the floor as she tried not to follow him but did exactly that. He had piqued her interest. This he knew.
