"Then obviously you've not been around the right men." Daniel said softly, noting mentally that she had not mentioned her brother. His instincts were rarely wrong. And Julia was lovely because she was carrying life, life that he had helped to create, his spawn, his seed, to carry on his name into the next generation. How anyone could not find that attractive was beyond him.
The question caught him slightly off-guard. Zowie was nothing if not unpredictable, another trait that reminded him so much of his daughter. "You're worth loving now, Zowie. I'm just here to help you figure that out." And with that, he ushered her through the door, closing and securing it behind him.
"You may return my jacket tomorrow." Now was as good a time as any to say their goodbyes. "Please do keep it on if you're going to be wandering about, however. If you're found without it, you will be taken to solitary." He offered her a polite smile. "It was nice to have met you. Enjoy the rest of your day."
