Rez hated that. But it was better to be honest than to just tell him what he wanted to hear and maybe change his mind about it later. This was a lot to think about. Sure, it'd been five years but.. It still hurt almost like it'd just happened yesterday. And he had to figure out whether he was willing to take that risk again or not.
Smiling a little at their interlaced fingers, Rez gave a small shrug of his shoulders. "I was there for a little while." He glanced up at him. "Even got to spend some time with my boy." Though not a lot. River's family didn't trust him much and maybe they had reason to. "But uhm... Then it came back." At least that was what he was convinced had happened.
