"I know you do." Rez replied softly, but he said nothing about whether or not he believed him. He couldn't talk about that. It would just end up with the two of them arguing on and on about the whole thing and that just didn't sound like a very good way to spend their time. He'd much rather spend it.. doing anything other than that.
Hearing Riley talk about his childhood made him feel... bad. Rez had had such a good childhood. He had had parents that loved him and were good to him. He had had every advantage in the world and yet he had shit on it, had turned to drugs and prostitution, had fucked his life, and his mind, all up. And yet Riley, who'd had it rough, had fought his entire life to keep his life together.
He wanted to say something. He wanted to offer him some form of comfort or whatever but.. he couldn't think of anything. So instead of saying a word, he leaned up and kissed him. And then he finally thought of something to say as he pulled away. "I love you, Riley."
