There are alot of Medieval mysteries out there now(a la Ellis Peters). What are everyone's favorites? I am looking for hints of things to read.

Favorite Period/Topic?

It's a bit slow in here, so I'm going to propose a topic!

What's everyone's favorite period or topic in relation to the Middle Ages?

Religions? Wars? Mythology? Arthurian Legends? Holy Roman Empire, or Byzantine? Celts, or Vikings? What about the "New World" in the medieval period (i.e. St. Brendan, or Lief Erikson)? What about clothing styles? Are you a re-enactor? Are you interested in the time period as a whole?

Again, feel free to make a post introducing yourself, or just post asking for new friends if you're looking! Since the community is still new and small, it's okay to drift off-topic or make one-liner posts. As we grow and if traffic increases, I might put a stop to that, but for now it's fine :)

Welcome to the Middle Ages

Welcome to [info]middle_ages, an InsaneJournal asylum dedicated to the discussion of Medieval History.

Please try to keep discussion to scholarly topics rather than fantasy or reenactor related (though discussion of SCA topics is permitted until someone creates an SCA/Reeanactor-friendly asylum.)

Feel free to introduce yourself!
