Characters: Triton and Athena Date/Time: Wednesday afternoon, September 12th, 2012 Location: Princeton Campus, near Carnegie Lake Rating: PG-13 at least Warnings: Language and violence Summary: The sea prince is targeted in the godling attacks... and Athena is just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Ever since insisting on taking her under his wing, Athena's presence on the Princeton campus was starting to become a regular phenomenon. She even had a drawer all to herself at the Sigma Chi house. Seeing as she was nearly always in Triton's company during these visits, the prevailing assumption was that she was his girlfriend--something that regularly earned her glares from the various sorority members.
The two of them knew better, of course. Triton preferred to take on the mantle of mentor, rather than boyfriend, teaching her whatever he felt she needed. Sometimes, it meant taking her into the athletic facilities to practice. Other times, just talking and walking, typically along the shore of Carnegie Lake. That's where they were today.
"You've made a lot of progress over the weeks. I hope it continues at the same pace," Triton said, a bit of a smile playing over his lips. For him, though it might sound faint to the casual ear, it was warm praise.
