Isn't Kaisermühlenblues borderline comedy though? Like Echter Wiener Geht Nicht Unter?
Germany has a bunch of blue collar soap operas along the lines of Coronation Street (Marienhof, Lindenstrasse though Lindenstrasse actually airs only once a week I think).
It should be noted that all of these Marienhof, Lindenstrasse, Kaisermühlenblues are centered around a specific building or street, which more or less secures that the characters don't become rich (or rather if they become rich they move away) and that the new characters that move in are going to be blue collar again because the place the show is centered around just isn't the kind of place rich people would move to.
Other than that it's slim pickings because all that Germany (or Austria) produces is pretty either cop shows (and people think CSIs are bad, I think there are like 5 SOKOs) or doctor shows. Though here you have the distinction between more or less rural.
Oh and you have the occasional hotel owner show (which usually has storylines both about the staff and the more upper class guests and owners).
It always seemed fascinating to me that there aren't any (and I can't even think of any in the past) shows about farmers. One would think that based on all the old Heimatfilme there would be some.
