I think you could say there is a fair amount of fighting over intellectual property though, and that folks definitions of intellectual property are very fuzzy, as many of them functionally also depend on emotional investment, and intellectual property rights are viewed differently based on emotional investment and receipt of or lack of receipt of payment (usually monetary). I've seen many observations of the inherent contradiction between fandom attitudes towards professional writers and screenwriters, versus fandom authors or vidders.
But even this would tie in to your comment about capitalism's obsession with property.
